Trump: Kim's people sit up when he speaks, 'I want my people to do the same'

No one should now have any doubt that Donald Trump is a wanna-be authoritarian.

“President Trump said on Friday that he wants "his people" to listen to him like North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's people listen to him.

"He's the head of a country. And I mean, he is the strong head," Trump said of Kim in a tongue-in-cheek manner as he spoke to Steve Doocy of "Fox & Friends" outside the White House.

"Don't let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same," Trump said.”

This post is TDS on steroids!! Pathetic!!

When my kids were at home, I fully expected them to sit up and take notice if/when I spoke to them. Before I retired, I expected the same from those under my supervision as well. No point in talking if you DON'T expect others to take notice!!!!!!

Perhaps this is why there is such a gap in this nation - people DON'T LISTEN, but instead let the fake media do their "listening & thinking" for them.

'Course, if you are one of the liberal mind-readers, then perhaps your opening comment was spot on - in spite of lack of other evidence.

From the op:

"
Doocy did not ask a direct follow-up question to clarify.

Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn after the Fox interview, Trump was pressed on what he meant when he said that he wanted his "people" to listen to him like the North Koreans listen to Kim.

"I was kidding," he said. "You don't understand sarcasm."

You, I, and the rest of the American people don't work for Donald Trump. He is our employee.
The problem is that all of the career bureacrats that DO work for the POTUS feel the same way.
Foreign governments once had to infiltrate agencies like the DOD or FBI to learn secrets. Now they only need to get a job at a newspaper and wait for the professional leaks to come pouring across their desk. It is all based on contempt for elected officials by professional "staff".

look at that headline, can the MSM possibly be more dishonest?

1. US under Trump = North Korea, Trump is a dictator after all.
2. off-the-cuff remark, meant to be funny but they have NO sense of humor at all.
3. what happened at the summit besides some lame joke?

the MSM is trying to manipulate AGAIN, never occurred to them that maybe Trump was trolling them for kicks.

whats wrong with loyalty to the POTUS today? Nothing.

Loyalty to Trump is only for another 6.5 years.

They (deep state) know that Trump understands that it is necessary to overcome the long planned bloodless communist revolution

Trump needs to drain the commies out of the marxist deep state swamp and we need to help him!

Ballets not bullets.

2018!! 2020!! VOTE OUT THE ESTABLISHMENT, VOTE IN TERM LIMITS.

I don' know the whole context of the comment. It appears some tongue and cheek were going on.

But he's also the representative of the People. He is the chosen official of the American Electorate (the closest thing to an Emperor we have). Thus he deserves fear and honor (Romans 13:7).

I would argue Obama deserved the same when he was in office, and the conservative press certainly gave him respect. We can criticize a governing officials, especially if they are not acting in accordance with the will of those who appointed them (Paul and the jailers for instance). But blatant disrespect is not warranted.

Truly scary stuff: more evidence of America's descent into fascism

Matt, I take umbrage at your remark. From where I sit it seems you consider anyone to the right of Tony Blair to be a fascist/nazi. Many here would be more supportive of the late Ian Paisley and the Ulster Unionists than of Lady Thatcher and her Tories.

But you have to admit that using scripture out of context in order to justify seperating children from their parents is draconian.

Thatcher wasn't a fascist. She was a Conservative from the right of her party but she never tried to deny others their rights like Paisley's DUP on the grounds of religion or ethnicity, nor did she back that up with violence or the threat of violence. If people here support Northern Irish paramilitaries or their political apologists, shame on them

Which Ian Paisley, Squire? The one who wanted to subjugate the Papists and bang the Orange drum or the Unionist leader who finally agreed to a devolution that effectively ended the Time of Troubles? The politics of Ulster are so focused on Protestant vs. Catholic that they really have no counterpart in the United States (at least not in any way that would bring credit upon its practitioners).

The closest parallel is the one from which the Nationalist community drew its inspiration in the late 1960s: civil rights. In many respects the Catholics were the blacks of Northern Ireland and Big Ian and his ilk playing the role of George Wallace. Like Wallace, Paisley too underwent something of a conversion later in life, but that doesn't detract from the bigotry of his earlier years.

That, unfortunately, was the comparison I tried to avoid making. You could even make the case that Paisley's earlier politics were more like the Klan or the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission.
