yeah, but as tningnt time. I saw online yesterday that in 2016, there was some irregular voting in a state, which Trump narrowly won, but never challenged this. Why only when he is on the losing side, that he cries foul?
Saved - stop and think what you said -
1) why would Trump have challenged a state or Commonwealth of which he won.
The real question is why didn't Hillary contest it.
2) without all the facts in front of me - my guess is that that one S/C - even if flipped would not have made a difference in the final tally.

This year - the morning after election- there were enough uncalled s/c that challenging a s/c vote was reasonable. Now - if PA were to flip to Trump - it could make a big difference.

Actually, he could serve a max of 9 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Sorry, I'm just an exact type of guy! When I managed WAMN in Bluefied, I
instructed my DJ's to give the the tenths of a degree.
ie - "Your W A M N PRECISE temperature is 90.2 degrees"

okay two other things - our call signal was meant to mean - A men!
And I said 90 degrees, because when the temperature hit 90 degrees -
Miss Bluefield would pass out free Lemonade in the park!

Opps - will I get in trouble for going off OP?

That would only apply if he took office less than two years into another individual's term.

(For example, if he were serving as Vice-President, and the President resigned, or was assassinated.)

Also, the amendment was written during the Truman administration, allowing him to run for President in 1956, if he so desired.

Someone could, but I really doubt he could. The most likely way for this to happen is for a Vice-President to become President for just under two years, then run and be elected President two terms. Trump could/would never be a second, so I can't conceive of this happening in his case.

Trump made a rather bold statement, when he said that he was the "chosen one". If this is true, and he was indeed "chosen" by the Lord, as King Saul was; then, as God removed Saul from being King, so did he remove Trump from the POTUS! In which case, no human efforts to try to get him to carry on, can ever succeed, as you cannot fight against The Almighty!

I was thinking about this - suppose a POUTS was about to resign - and if it meant a matter of a few days- the Prez might hold off his resignation so that the veep could than have 2 full terms (if otherwise elected!_

and to think that here in the UK, the PM can be around forever! as there are no limits. Sir Robert Walpole served for almost 21 years, and William Pitt the Younger almost 19!

The President of the United States is elected to have that position for a period, or "term", that lasts for four years. The Constitution had no limit on how many times a person could be elected as president. The nation’s first president, George Washington chose not to try to be elected for a third term. This suggested that two terms were enough for any president. Washington’s two-term limit became the unwritten rule for all Presidents until 1940.

At end of Trump's second term, Pence gets elected President and Trump VP, Pence immediately resigns and Trump is President again.

Because the 22nd Amendment prohibits anyone from serving as President for more than ten years (total).

The 22nd Amendment doesn't say what you think it says

"The 22nd Amendment only requires that someone not be elected to the Presidency more than twice. Someone who was elected to two terms on his own is still eligible to be Vice President and to rise to the Presidency upon the death, resignation or removal of the President"

"[also] the 22nd Amendment leaves open a loophole that an individual could be elected to...the Speakership of the House...then rise to the Presidency"

That would be an interesting Supreme court decision!

All this is true. However, the ten year total still applies to this turn of events.

The opposite is also true!! If it is His will, Trump will continue, & " --no human efforts to try to get him OUT, can ever succeed --."

The 22nd amendment could be overturned, some major party leaders from both democrats and republicans have wanted to to do that for years.

The 22nd Amendment was passed at the behest of the Republican Party.

The Republicans didn't want to see another Democrat (like FDR) win election four consecutive times again.

As worded, the primary focus of the 22nd Amendment is on limiting individuals from being elected to the presidency more than twice. Due to this, several issues could be raised regarding the amendment's meaning and application, especially in relation to the 12th Amendment, ratified in 1804, which states, "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."[24] While it is clear that under the 12th Amendment the original constitutional qualifications of age, citizenship, and residency apply to both the president and vice president, it is unclear whether someone who is ineligible to be elected president could be elected vice president. Because of this apparent ambiguity, there may be a loophole in the 22nd Amendment whereby a two-term former president could be elected vice president and then succeed to the presidency as a result of the incumbent's death, resignation, or removal from office (or even succeed to the presidency from some other stated office in the presidential line of succession).[8][25]

Some argue that the 22nd Amendment and 12th Amendment bar any two-term president from later serving as vice president as well as from succeeding to the presidency from any point in the presidential line of succession.[26]
