Thanks :)
Still able to walk without a walker or cane (how long - don't know).
PTL.

I’m 82, & CAN walk w/ no assistance, BUT I generally use a stick (make ‘em as a hobby) just “in case”!!
Has proved useful several times when I would jerk my head to glimpse an overhead plane buzzing by & I would have a brief imbalance. Won’t look quick if I don't have my stick!!

Hank... my great grandfather worked in the anthracite coal mines and ran a pump business till he was in his 70’s. Then he took his money and bought 300 acres in East Exeter PA with cattle, crops, plow horses (2 sets) .... he plowed the fields from sun up to sun down. That was his retirement.

While I admit of having "lost it" myself , TODAY is my 77th birthday and as far as I know there is no Alzheimers
for which I thank the LORD.

Seventy -seven? Well, at 62 I am just a kid to you, a "Junior Senior" is what I am called at my 55+ RV park here in Florida. A Happy Birthday to you and many more!

He was European so land and family was important to him. He bought the farm so that his family could live off the land during the depression.... and he bought houses for his 2 daughters so they could live with their husbands and kids. And he worked them hard, it was a no frills life. My father never got a birthday present from them... my mom had to buy him something when he was out of the army. I have a 2nd cousin who studied all the time and was a professor at the university of Delaware. When he was asked why he studied all the time, rose up the educational ranks (early childhood studies), and generally excelled in his field, he said his grandfather was responsible... he had never worked so hard in his life for the old man and never wanted to return to that type of life LOL

I’m also 62 and now my wife wants me to move to Florida. The cold weather is to hard for her and her parents and our son are there.

I have a son and his family just north of Miami.

Watching their weather it only got out of the 80's 4 or 5 days during the "winter" months.
