Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists, and special interests, while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it," he explained. "It wasn't their fault. It was China's fault."

The president is kicking back the bill to Congress and asking them to amend "the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple." He's also asking Congress to get rid of the pork that's found in

I saw that billions to other various places versus here.
Maybe they will override, but I think that's tough to do for now.

From the Link:
"It's called the COVID relief bill but it has almost nothing to do with COVID," he explained in his address. "This bill contains $85.5 million for assistance to Cambodia; $134 million to Burma; $1.3 billion for Egypt and Egyptian military, which will go out and buy almost exclusively Russian military equipment; $25 million for democracy and gender programs in Pakistan; $505 million to Beliza, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama; $40 million for the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., which is not even open for business; $1 billion for the Smithsonian and an additional $154 million for the National Gallery of Art; ... $7 million for reef fish management; $25 million to combat Asian carpe; $2.5 million to count the number of amberjack fish in the Gulf of Mexico, a provision to promote the breeding of fish in federal hatcheries; $3 million in poultry production technology; $2 million to study the impact of downed trees; $566 million for construction projects at the FBI."

I wonder how many families spent more money the past couple days because they were so certain that they would be getting money next week. I feel like this is a game, that they are all working together on, that keeps people thinking money is coming when it is not, just to jumpstart the economy.

I am convinced this is a game that they are all in on, to keep jumpstarting the economy.

Let me ask you a question. With sky-high American debt both public and private, how much will more borrowing really help the economy? Also, I have worked everyday through this “epidemic” and have gotten $1200 so far—do you think that people like me should really have gotten the first check and now another check?

Look at it this way, the politicians are simply not taking as much they usually do... they’re giving your own money back to you and expecting you to gratefully thank them with your vote.

This is the way I see what Trump is doing.
He is out trumping the politicians by bring to the forefront the excesses of the Washington political machine.
By spending so much during his time in office, politicians in this next administration will have to either cut back their spending (including eliminating pork in spending bills) or face ruining the economy... the future will tell if they will do it. It is not something democrats usually do. Their record is poor.
Trump really doesn’t want to sign any more big spending bills anyway. It would ruin the future economy. I’d bet that if you looked, the pork was added by the Republicans (with the amazed democrats looking on) in order to allow the President to refuse to sign the bill. Now the next administration will have to bear the responsibility of either increasing the debt or cutting back pet projects.

And by constantly claiming election fraud, Trump is forcing politicians to deal with the issue.
He’s weakening the political machine’s hold on the American people. More and more people don’t trust our government.
Politicians want to have the confidence of the people they represent. We’ll see what they do. Their record is poor.

By not dealing with these issues politicians will further weaken the country and their hold upon it.

The last money they gave the Kennedy Center, the center immediately canned most of their employees, so instead of helping the people, they are just funneling to the few. The FBI needs a kiss, a big kiss, for covering the swamp butt nicely. It’s deep, we pay for them & they give back crumbs after delaying relief to buy the election they ‘give’ you half of the first relief check. There is a lot of suffering by families right now & this is the answer.......up yours, those signs they are running around with in Georgia to vote yourself 1200? More democrat lies. It’s what they do.

I am not saying whether or not checks should be issued; I am just saying that I think the timed promises of checks is manipulative.

I like these comments on the announcement. Same guy made 'em.

Kevin Sorbo @ksorbs
Remember when Pelosi called the $2,500 from the Trump tax cuts “crumbs” She’s now bragging about giving $600 to Americans

Is anyone else concerned that the members of Congress made over $100,000 this year debating whether or not to give the American people $600?

I can’t imagine anyone in their right mind counting on another stimulus check before year’s end, or spending the money before they get it. That kind of faith in government is woefully misplaced.

the only people that will begin to spend the whopping six hundred dollar handout will be the ones already on the government teat. It's ridiculous - yes, all bills have some pork but this thing is insane. Trumps wants to up it to two thousand but it's still pennies to compensate for shutting down the entire economy over a virus.
