Yahoo News? No bias there, I’m sure.

I wonder… did yahoo news do a story about Biden underestimating Putin when Biden stated the U.S. wouldn’t respond if Putin had a “little” skirmish in Ukraine? How’s that working out?

Did yahoo news do a story about Obama underestimating Iran when he signed an agreement (not a treaty) that gave Iran billions in U.S. cash dollars that they promptly used to attack the U.S. and our allies?

DT listens to his generals, and other experts. He decides the course of action and trust them to make it happen.

Personally, I do not trust yahoo news to tell the truth about anything.

Peace to you

Looks like Trump got the NATO and other nations to wake up and help protect the Strait of Hormuz.

“We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning.”

Wow!!! Is DT going to bring the whole civilized world together to stop Iran?

What a great POTUS!!! I’m so proud of him, and happy he’s in office and not the other, some other person that means not this person, so we can free ourselves of what was and move forward with what is, which is something different than that other thing…. Come on man!!! That other thingy!!!

Peace to you

He should have thought about how to keep the straits open before he went to war. He's just playing catch-up now.
He should have realised the fanaticism of the Iran regime when it slaughtered thousands of its own people back in January. And by assassinating the Iranian leaders, Trump ends up not knowing whom to negotiate with.

The generals and military advisors have known about the Strait of Hormuz and how to deal with it for decades. This did not catch anyone off guard. It is not easy to deal with, but progress is being made. The Iranian leaders cannot be kept safe and unharmed just so Trump will know who to deal with. The leaders had to be taken out to cripple the regime. If leaders are left intact, they can do more harm.

Time will tell. I tend to doubt it.

The deaths of Colonel Gadaffi and Saddam Hussein did not bring peace or stability to Libya or Iraq. Trump is rather obviously suffering from some form of dementia, thinking that just by bombing Iraq he would provoke surrender. Hitler bombed Britain for over a year, and it didn't make us give up; it just united the country against Hitler. These Irainian leaders obviously don't care about their people; they just recently killed some tens of thousands of them. Nor do they care about their country's infrastructure. What they care about is ruling in the name of Allah, and to hell with everything else.

In The Art of War, Sun Tzu advocates for disrupting the enemy's strategy, alliances, and leadership to win.

Eliminating leaders is demoralizing and disorienting to the enemy. It frightens them because they see that the leaders were vulnerable and not as invincible as they pretended to be. Followers without leaders are less organized and can engage in foolish, desperate, self-defeating behaviors.

What matters is not just dropping bombs, but destroying strategic military and infrastructure resources of the enemy, ruining their militarized industrial base and decreasing Iran’s ability to keep fighting and terrorizing. Iran’s remaining leaders do care about infrastructure, because they fear a population uprising that could stem from the failure of leaders to meet basic needs.

Trump is destroying in Iran the military assets that Obama helped finance.

In January 2016, the Obama administration airlifted $400 million in cash to Iran, using wooden pallets stacked with foreign currencies (Swiss francs, euros) flown on an unmarked cargo plane. This payment was the first installment of a total $1.7 billion settlement intended to resolve a decades-old dispute over a failed arms deal dating back to before the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

If you have a better war strategy, we would enjoy hearing it.

Also, an op-ed published last week by Al Jazeera praised the effectiveness of the military actions taken by the U.S. and Israel.

"When you look at what has actually happened to Iran’s principal instruments of power – its ballistic missile arsenal, its nuclear infrastructure, its air [defenses], its navy and its proxy command architecture – the picture is not one of US failure. It is one of systematic, phased degradation of a threat that previous administrations allowed to grow for four decades," wrote Muhanad Seloom, an assistant professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
