Mexico Says Won’t Pay for Donald Trump’s ‘Terrible’ Border Wall

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – There is no way Mexico would fund Donald Trump’s “terrible” plan to build a wall along its border with the United States if the Republican front-runner wins the U.S. presidential election, the Mexican finance minister said.

Still waiting for him to explain how he plans to make Mexico pay for its construction...

Here ya go

Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.

It is laughable to think that increasing fees and impounding moneys earned by illegals will force Mexico into paying for it. It will simply be considered a new cost of conducting business. Besides, they can retaliate by increasing various fees, etc. on Americans. The result would simply be higher costs and no Mexican-paid-for Wall.

Wall is estimated to cost $12 billion. Trump's revenue raising schemes might raise a couple million, if he's lucky. Just another example of his business savvy.

Besides, his talk about building the wall is just campaign rhetoric, and not something he's going to follow through on.

How much did the great wall of China cost? Hadrian's wall? Robert frost's wall?

Yeah, this is .campaign rhetoric, so don't have a wall-eyed fit.
