Trust McCain? His First Wife Carol Couldn't!

He doesn't, what he said is that to achieve true victory we need the Iraqi people to take civil control of their own country so we can bring our troops home.
How is this change? This has always been the goal. Are you saying that Obama has been lying to us when he said he brings change?

You know Pastor Larry there is no real guarantee that either McCain or Obama will accomplish change of any sort. The real question is if McCain can win bipartision support of congress.

This is just cracking me up. When Bill Clinton had the adulterous affair with Monica Lewinsky, the libs told us it had no bearing on his Presidency and he was a sitting president having the affair, not 30 years in the past. Now, the libs want to make an issue over 30 years ago to defame McCain who admitted he had a moral failing and didn't apologize about it. Not once did he shake his finger into the camera and say "I did not have sex with that woman."

So, puleeeese. This is just another stretch and grasp at straws.

And, as has been pointed out, if you want to go back 30 years, then the Muslim schooling should be fair game, as well. You libs can't have it both ways, even though you try.

I didn't endorse Clinton's affair but LE, you posted more Obama is Muslm threads than the board could hold. To say it is suddenly fair game is like saying MCain and Palin are agents of change... I guess it's all relative...

No, we are in Iraq and not much we can do to change that. His plan is to set a date for our departure. The Iraqi elected officials still can't decide whose vote carries how much weight. Those so called security forces we are training are on America's payroll which Iraq is racking up big overages. Obama wants to say to the new Iraqi government, you can go in your meetings and do nothing for the next 1 and a half but on a set day we are leaving ready or not. Hopefully this will encourage them to use their time wisely and not rely on the fact that we'll be there to defend them forever (or 100 years like McCain said).

It's not perfect and may not work but it is a plan to get out which is more than anyone else is offering.

This is a great example of why Obama should not be elected. He is totally unprepared for office if he thinks it is okay just to leave whenever. He is naive, and Joe Biden (with all his "experience") should be stepping him to tell him that.

We should not have change for the sake of change. Change that may not work is not good. The fact is that what we are doing there is working (and Obama voted against it ... another example of naivete).

Exactly, PL. We have to remember, we are not the only ones there besides the Iraqis. There are other nations involved, too, maybe not in the military aspect, but in rebuilding of infrastructure, medical, etc. There's a lot at stake besides just saying, we get out on such and such date. You even have to have the means in place to handle it (logistics), etc. It shows how little Obama knows about things outside of being a community organizer.

Not true, McCain originally said we may be there 100 years if we have to. Bush recently went to a view of pulling out.

Not leave when ever, to set a date and leave on that day. This should encourage them to get their act together and take control of their own country.

Agreed... What we are doing there is recently showing sign's of working. However, no one gives Obama credit for saying we need more troops in Afghanistan and should be looking at Pakistan very closely. Now that Bush has endorsed or acted on this same suggestions it is widely accepted but Obama said this along time ago and was called crazy and unlearned.

The way I see it, McCain 1 (more troops) and Obama 2 (Afghanistan and Pakistan)...

It has been six years since the invasion and the Iraqi's have taken 40% control of one province. I think that speaks for itself...

Ahmad Chalabi lied. He hoodwinked all of Congress for years and the Bush administration too.

The truth: Millions (meaning most) of the Christians in Iraq have fled because of muslim persecution, threats of beheading, bombs blowing up their churches, homes, and businesses, since Operation Iraqi Freedom and since we helped establish a muslim state.

The truth: Shia and Sunni hate each other and will take their revenge the moment the last American boot leaves the ground and all hell will break loose over there because it is a religious war and not a political war.

However, that being said, I have yet to hear Obama say anything about "muslim" terrorism.
