I will choose the topic of this thread, which is clearly Gov Palin's weaknesses.

No you won't.

The thread author chooses the topic...

and has ventured off topic as well.

Will you report that post?

I thought the election was over.

This is the poorest showing of grace.

The horse is dead. When are you sore winners going to stop beating it.

Never have I seen such continued ugliness.......

The election is over..... unless you wish your Christianity be questioned in earnest.... I suggest you start posting with a little sensitivity.

I thought those who are disappointed had the rights of 'sour grapes' but this is wholly and completely unkind!

I find truckers are more caring on a trucking forum and men and women more caring on a homesteading board..... even in the heated discussions of politics than Christians have been on this board and the after election treatment is just as bad here of both those who's candidates lost and of the candidates who lost.

I feel as though I've wasted time here! There is no fellowship; No hospitality here. No love! :tear:

This video, if true news and not satire, is totally relevant. Something went wrong - the Republicans messed up big time in order to allow a liberal Democrat to win so massively. Why wait to analyze what went wrong?

If the vice-presidential candidate was indeed this weak, it is something that needs to be fixed for next time. If the true right cannot learn from our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them again.

How is wanting to fix what went wrong a lack of love? How is it unkind to want to turn things around next time?

Let me clairify - you gave me the choice to discuss the topic of the thread or your off topic derailing attempt - I chose to discuss the intended topic of the thread.

You will not find me, and you know this to be true, moderating threads where I am deeply involved in the debate.

You, yourself, admit the election is over, and that this report is a 'hearsay' report leaked from inside the camp..... Neither of us are able to judge beyond what he says as to whether it is true or not or embellished, or more or less intense than stated.......

And considering the political leanings of the person who started this thread, it is the poorest of taste that he keeps knocking the candidates.

Course some guys just like to stick it and keep twisting.... e tu brute?

Excuse me Roger, but that is exactly what you were doing.

When I suggest someone is off topic, it is generally ignored.

When you make the suggestion...

Roger, the title carries weight. It's hard to believe you don't know that.

Are you going to report LeBuick's off topic post? I don't believe you answered.

If this is true - do you now want to see the problem fixed so we can start to turn things around in 2010 and 2012? Some on the right herald Gov Palin as the candidate for '12. If she is this poorly informed than the right are setting themselves up for an even bigger defeat.

I have a hard time accepting that this video is not a parady of some sort.

If you don't believe me, just flip over to Fox. Brit Hume just carried a version of the story and so did Greta. You don't have to take my word, look at Fox.

This is what concerns me - this is a Fox report.

Someone in he GOP needs to step up in a real leadership role or the GOP will be on its death bed by the next election.

The time to make a course correction is now - not in 2010.

I have not see the video ... can't watch it on the computer I'm using. But I just read an article that links to the video. Wow! It is very frightening to think of Palin being one heart beat away from being the president. Prior to the election I ... as some of you know ... did not like the idea of her being VP. This only confirms what I had thought ... and they say more is to follow.

Here is a link to the short article I read: http://gawker.com/5077810/palin-didnt-know-continents-vs-countries-mccain-leak

Surely McCain would not intentionally leak news to pass the blame off on Gov Palin.

Can't accept that either.

The GOP simply blew it this time, and they had better learn from their mistakes.

I am sure Gov Palin is a lovely woman who does a great job governing her state, but they should not have picked her if all this stuff is true.

I agree with your assessment on this.

I have said that Palin would probably be a great friend, vivacious, lots of fun, humorous, life of the party, but not deep or reflective. I do think she is very ambitious. But I do not think she has the temperament to be a national leader. If it is true that she refused to be prepped for her interview with Katie C. it only adds confirmation to my thoughts.

McCain would not but perhaps some of his campaign staff would.

McCain lost and some of his staff may be looking for a place to pass off the blame so that they can get hired by the next candidate that comes along. You must remember that a lot of these professional campaign advisors will work for the either party. To them it's just a job. Working for a loosing candidate doesn't enhance the resume.

Some of McCain's campaign staff may have wanted someone other than Palin for the VP slot and now are having an "I told you so" moment.

No matter what, it's all gossip to me.

Nothing more than "he said - she said" without proof other than the accuser's accusations.

I can't believe that video. It has to be a joke. Palin would have spent her time in elementary schools in the late '60's. early '70s', like me, and the liberals had not yet successfully ruined public education.

This must be unzinging the strings of a lot of hearts of folks who thought FOX NEWS is conservative......

I for one, am Glad McCain didn't get elected, and blame it on his own penchant for liberalism, for getting along's sake. Two years of Obama with a leftie congress should bring some people out of the fog.

I still like Palin, and it looks like the country-club Washington wing of the GOP is going to try and destroy her, and McCain is in that camp.

LeBuick, do you really think she mistook Africa for a country ?

Well, it looks like Newsweek, ABC and The New York Times have also posted similar stories. Look at this part about the $150K in clothe.

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/story?id=6196407&page=1

A Republican donor who agreed to foot a majority of the expenses was stunned when he received the bill, Newsweek reported. Both the Times and Newsweek report that the budget for the clothing was expected to be between $20,000 and $25,000. Instead, the amount reported by the Republican National Committee was $150,000.

That wasn't the whole tab, however, according to Newsweek. The magazine claims that Palin leaned on some low-level staffers to put thousands of dollars of additional purchases on their credit cards. The national committee and McCain became aware of the extra expenditures, including clothes for husband Todd Palin, when the staffers sought reimbursement, Newsweek reported.

There is one comment in particular from a McCain aide that guaranteed to heighten friction between the two camps. The angry aide described the Palin family shopping spree to Newsweek as "Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast."

Perhaps she spent more time moose hunting with her dad than she did in class. Did you notice Piper was with Palin at just about every rally? I started wondering why she wasn't in school. But maybe AK has a different schedule from us.

This is the point Bro Curtis, the far right of the party loves Sarah but the moderates are not in her corner. How can she get elected without the moderates? The far right is only about 25% of the party and is not nearly enough to put any candidate in office alone. This means if she wants to make any national office she has to begin to compromise on her positions which would loose her the far right but will satisfy her political ambitions.

The way she tried to sell the proximity of AK to Russia as foreign policy experience and the fact that she couldn't name a periodical or a supreme court decision, well, let's just say, I don't own a set of Palin colored glasses like are being worn on the far right. I see her for who she is.

This is a perfect example of the anti intellectualism that has plagued the republican party and ran many of us away.
