Elon Musk made billions off of Tesla and has passed nothing down to the shareholders in the form of stock value or dividends.

Hopefully it turns up. I don't want a Tesla anything, but he is bringing much needed technology innovation to the US.

My brother-in-law worked for SpaceX a couple of years ago as a manager. They had a project that failed. Musk said it was worth the money because they learned from it.

I'd be upset of I lost a couple thousand. Can't imagine spending that much money just to advance technology.

But I guess we need that to advance as a nation. There are not many companies willing to take that risk.

“Gain-of-function” in this context is just another way of saying “bioweapon”. Some good nuggets in article. Important to note that Fauci authored 2012 paper arguing for gain-of-function research! Obama wisely put this on pause, but Fauci restarted it.
