Well, there will always be those churches that don't follow God's Word and it's a shame. But what they do is not up to me. There are MANY churches going away from the Word and what's important is to make sure that what goes on under MY roof holds firm to Scripture. If that were my church, I'd not be there next Sunday.
None of which support female pastors.
How is this relevant?
Irrelevant.
So is my wife, and she is not the leader in my home or in my church.
No obscuring taking place, just defining the word based on the context. One can minister as a servant, no mistranslating taking place.
Non sequitur. Being a servant not in leadership in no way is a "downgrade in status".
You beg the question by assuming Junias / Junia is a woman. At any rate an apostle is not a pastor, as Paul is proof of this.
Women not in leadership? Not according to the scriptures...

Annsni...
I know. Why are you choosing to do that.
I have posted scripture that makes clear that in both the old and new covenant periods WOMEN where in positions of leadership roles.
Why do you cast the scripture aside to hold to the traditions of men?

There are no women in Scripture that are in position of leadership roles. You have shown me none.
:wavey:I see nothingk, I know nothingk!
Prophets are leaders in a local church? Servants are leaders in the local church? Everyone who shares the gospel is a leader in the local church? ?You hold to a strange definition of leadership and have proven absolutely nothing.Ann...
Yes. I have
You are in denial.
Do you remember the old TV show Hogans Heros?
The character Schultz?
:wavey:
Actually, it is evidence that I am repulsed by religious bigotry and making women second class Christians whose duty is to serve male chauvinists.
Interesting. How common is it for a Baptist church to ordain a woman?
In black Baptist churches it is quite common.
he became pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. . . .He’d been a National Baptist before but became a Southern Baptist because that’s the denomination the church belonged to.

You are right and IMHO it is those churches who try to limit God to their own understanding. Very gently said.
Yes hopefully you will.
Wow even Jesus couldn't meet your 'standard'.
The main difference here is the worldly view, coming from the theological left, of bigotry and oppression. In the worldly view not being able to do the exact same thing proves bigotry. In the view of God different roles do not meet such a description.
when in fact one is calling God a bigot.
