Confession time. I, on more than one occasion, have latched onto a comment in a thread and shot off in another direction. So we wind up nowhere near where we started.

When I see some extraneous comment that I can't let pass, the temptation to chase that rabbit is well nigh irresistible.

In fact, I can feel it coming on right now.

Hang on.

Aahhh, it's passed now. Whew, that was close.

I Try....

While I know I don't "hit the mark" 100% of the time, I do try to post in a way that is edifying and informative to those who read what I have to say here. While I know that no one will likely agree with everything I say, I will testify that my convictions are honestly held and it is my desire that they be examples (my comments and convictions) of the presence of God's Spirit and His fruits in my life. That is my sincere prayer. That is the type of poster I desire to be. As Christians we should all seek to be pleasing in His sight. I need His help every moment of every day.

I think there may be a third group of posters. Folks who think God gave them the job of exposing perceived faults in others. They post "this guy is semi-Pelagian" that guy is an Open Theist, and this other guy is a legalist.

I think the test is whether the OP expresses a view taught in scripture, i.e. fault finding is condemned in scripture, or whether it seems calculated to tear down others.

If you bothered to read that thread you would see that I admitted that I made a mistake and Norm is not what I said he was. So no need to label me. And I disagree with your second point. Being a Berean (if thats what you call fault finding) is not condemned in scripture, it is encouraged.

Two types of posters:
1) Those seeking to find and teach God's word.
2) Those seeking to belittle them.

closed at request of the op.

Yep, he's obviously one of those two types of posters.
