The doctor should not have chosen an occupation that is regulated by the govt if he intended to ignore govt regulations, especially if he works in an industry that accepts govt funds.

That's right...if the government tells you to kill babies, you do so...

What a monumentally terrible line of thinking.

Very few occupations, if any, are free of regulation by the government. What bilwald, would you suggest? You think it proper for a woman to choose whether she has a baby? What about the doctor's and nurses right to chose within the scope of how they interpret 'do no harm' as part of their medical calling? I'm sure there are enough within the medical profession that if the money is right are willing to lay aside any scruples they might have without all who are part of the medical profession being forced into procedures which go against their conscience.

Frankly, if known, I would not trust a doctor without a conscience or a concern for life.

Nor do I trust any program, be it health insurance or government provided health care...... which will considered the position, or the wealth and influence, or the age, or the habits, or the industry, as a factor in choice of care for one person but not another. Once the government assumes this responsibility for the health of individuals, they are under the judgenment to provide for all equally: But, already government is slack in providing for the obligations it already has...... Ask any vet who returns from the war and requests help with adjustments to civilian life...... or has increases in health problems with reason to suspect exposure to pathogens or depleted uranium? Or the soldier in the field, made sick by contaminated water which was served from a contracted company which was charged with supplying pure water for drinking: Or the soldiers who've gotten electrocuted while taking showers from which the hot water was through defectively grounded supplys.

Good government is a blessing to the righteous..... and all profit from good leadership. But evil in leadership is a curse and laws become snares and bondage to all.

We have offended the laws of God. We have ceased to make laws which uphold the standards of wisdom which God gave to guide us. Our government has enforced its own rules regarding what it considers as important and dictates what can be taught and what cannot be taught. Christianity or any belief in the Bible becomes something bridled from the schools..... as is historical evidence censored of faith in those who have led us in the past: The kinsey report is a dubiously proven fabrication, and so is the morality of youth in America-Samoa a mocked up study..... yet both continue to be cited in educational material..... as though their authority is true.... while it serves to encourage immorality. The 'proof' of evolutionary progressions of early man have been proven to be hoaxes but continue to be published in the literature as though they are fact to support the theory of origins.... And early embryonic development of babies continues to be compared with those of fish and tadpoles, with gill slits etc..... when this has been proven false ....not the appearance, but the functions of such development clearly proves teh comparison is false misrepresentation of appearance with functional development. But a teacher may not keep a Bible visible in a book case in the class room. One would be hard pressed to find a Bible available in the school library...... a book which was a long time staple of the book shelf in the schools for many years until the twentieth and twentyfirst century. Yet, children go on fieldtrips to see or participate in a homos@xual marriage. Harry Potter is used to introduce them to reading .......and superstitions and practices of the occult and occult thinking: Pilgrims Progress is no longer a book for reports or reading lessons. But kids can get introduced to meditation, and yoga, and muslim garb, and prayer mats and rituals..... in the name of diversity training ...... but they cannot draw a cross in a poster or picture or talk about God in a story or report.....or mention their faith and dependance on him as the author of their success in a valedictorian or salutatorian speach at graduation...... They are censored. Our governmetn no longer honors or follows the constitution...... but gives lip service to it.

The constitution! Now there's an important document on which our government and the unity of the states and the people is held together. Soldiers and all public servants pledge or affirm allegance.... yet it isn't taught and studied in school in its entirely. Why isn't the government concerned about teaching the constitution in school. Is it because too many may become familiar with the infringements exercised by government in the making and enforcement of laws and demand a real change returning us to constitutional government?

And here we have a Senator who is also a physcian..... advocating for professional right to choose. We have several other doctors, physicians in the Legislature.... including at least one in the House. Most, if not all, are pro-life. But we have no regard for this Senator's position? Give me a break!

I mentioned this very scenario on another thread not long ago, but was dismissed as "dramatic" and alarmist and basically told it was nothing but scare tactics used by conservitives. Umm hmm. Looks like I was right. . .Christians are losing their rights, and fast.

Your post is a terrible waste of bandwith and should have been aborted before it was ever brought forth!

It is time for Christians to stand up and say, 'Enough is enough"

And take back this country from the liberal, socialistic, murdering scum who now run it!

Then we should praise God when He counts us worthy to suffer for him.

While I agree with you, tinytim, I do not believe we as Christians should just surrender our hard earned freedoms without a hard fight. We still have some freedoms in the USA and we have a constitution and political process that gives us a voice in our government. We need to use that to the best of our ability before we roll over and start suffering.

Surrender????????! NEVER!!!! I'll suffer fighting for what's right!!!!

That's what I meant....
This hillbilly will go down fightin!

BTW... Do you know how to get WV rednecks in church?
Tell em that it tis now agin the law to go to church...

The church will be full of hillbillies provin they have the right to worshup!

Why Bubba, and Bubba's sister, Bubba will be there.. right along with Bubba's aunt Arnold!

Seriously.. if the US would prohibit Christianity.. Christianity would grow by leaps and bounds.

I believe you are right. The church is strongest when it is most persecuted.

Yes, as history has proved time and again. The flame of Christianity will never be snuffed out, though some have tried.

I want to make sure I understand this. Are they saying that a doctor could face jail time for refusing to perform an abortion?

That is just insane. If I were a doctor arrested for refusing to abort someone's baby, I would show a little bit more than civil disobedience.

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who is also an OB/GYN, told CNSNews.com on Friday that many medical practitioners, including himself, will go to prison before agreeing to engage in medical practices they morally oppose, such as abortion

More Here
The rule in question wasn't introduced by Bush until Dec. 2008 and didn't go into effect until after Obama became president. Why didn't this Senator make this threat 8 years ago at the beginning of the Bush presidency? Nothing changed during Bush's two terms (surprise).

That is not true. The Bush efforts against abortion have been documented on this board. Why do you ignore them, only to post the same lie in another forum ? Does it make you feel superior to republicans ?

Hey, JC, I have an idea: Why don't you take this opportunity to make an off-topic slam on President Bush?

never mind...you already did...

Now you're saying that people who disagree with you should have been murdered? Take a deep breath and rethink this.

Try a little research before you call people a liar.

Conscience clause and relaxed environmental regs among Bush's lame-duck rulings

Reproductive health and enviro activists are fuming over two more last-minute rule changes by the outgoing Bush administration: a new reg that allows heathcare workers to nix treatments to which they have moral objections, and another one that bars regulators from taking into consideration a power company's climate change–causing greenhouse gas emissions when applying for a license to build new coal-fired plants.

Both rules are set take effect a month from now—just hours before Pres. Bush vacates the White House and President-elect Barack Obama is sworn in to office on Jan. 20.

The so-called “right of conscience” rule allows workers at more than 584,000 U.S. medical facilities that receive federal funding to refuse to provide patient care that involves procedures with which they disagree. Critics say the decision will mostly affect the provision of reproductive-health services to women, including abortion, birth control and emergency contraception. They also say it could complicate states’ ability to enforce laws requiring hospitals to offer those treatments, especially the morning-after pill for rape victims.

I want an apology this time.

An apology for what ? I don't agree with much of what Bush did, but that looks like a good move. You are the one repeating the lie that Bush didn't do anything to stop abortion. His work on late-term-partial-birth abortion & his efforts against embryonic stem-cell research deserve support, and frankly, I cannot see why you can't bring yourself to admit that. And the "save the earth from evil coal burning" movement is a bunch of leftist hooey.

Apology ? In yer dreams, Mr. Follow his way of peace not war.

1. He did not call you a liar

2. He owes no apology

3. You continue to refuse to admit the truth about Republicans and abortion.

4. You false assertion has been debunked on this baord.

You really do need to work on the reading comprehension thing.

The subject of tinytim's sentence is "your post" - not "people who disagree" with him.
