Ukraine War

I am underwhelmed every time Donald kisses the ring of a despot. I am doubly underwhelmed that he blames Ukraine for being invaded by Russia. By that same logic, we would have peace in the Middle East if only the Jewish people would agree to die like the Palestinians keep asking.

Fortunately, this is the last time I have to vote for that buffoon to prevent a liberal democrat from taking the office (I NEVER voted for Trump in a primary).

Trump has either delusions of grandeur or a Messiah complex. Possibly both.
Alienating your friends and sucking up to your enemies is not smart. Trump may think that Russia is an ocean away from the USA, but in fact the two are only separated by the Bering Strait.
Also, stand by for a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. If Xi Jinping thinks that America won't stand by her allies, then not only Taiwan but also South Korea, Japan and elsewhere in the region can be bullied, if not invaded.

Rand Paul:

"A few people may have noticed that I resisted an enthusiastic endorsement of Donald Trump during the election.

But now, I’m amazed by the Trump cabinet (many of whom I would have picked).

I love his message to the Ukrainian warmongers, and along with his DOGE initiative shows I was wrong to withhold my endorsement.

So today, admittedly a little tardy, I give Donald Trump my enthusiastic endorsement! (Too little too late some will say, but, you know, it is sincere, there is that.)

Don’t expect this endorsement to be fawning.

I still think tariffs are a terrible idea, but Dios Mio, what courage, what tenacity.

Go @realDonaldTrump Go!"

Not, Anglo. You don't even have a dog in this fight. He's returning us back to our Constitution and implementing COMMON SENSE as opposed to this NONSENSICAL insane cultural Marxism that's had its hold on us (and which it seems Europe is steeped in now). It's OUR $350B (NOT UK's) that's been recklessly given to them, and they're unable to account for at least half of it! This U.S. 'milk cow' that you Europeans have been sucking the teats on for decades is dangerously close to becoming insolvent, and I'm all in for fixing it before it's too late.

Ukraine didn’t start the war in the sense that they provoked the invasion. At the same time, Ukraine should have seen it coming. The only reason Ukraine has been denied entry into NATO for decades is because their government has been as corrupt as the day is long. Their leaders had a responsibility to their citizens after the dissolution of Soviet Union and they failed. Zelenskyy seems like a good guy and is doing the best he can but the people that came before him set him up for failure. I’m not faulting him for that.

CEO Branding Expert:

"Could Trump Be Seeing What No One Else Will Admit? Ukraine Won’t Negotiate As Long As the Hundreds of Billions Flow!

Zelensky just set the price: $250 billion from Europe if the U.S. cuts off aid.

This is the reality Trump sees: The war has no off-ramp as long as Zelensky believes the money will keep flowing.

Turning off the faucet isn’t just about cost, it’s about leverage.

As long as the billions are guaranteed, there’s no reason to negotiate.

Some leaders become so entrenched in conflict that it defines them. Zelensky may not be able to see past the war at this point! He wouldn’t be the first leader to fall victim to this!

Ukraine’s fight is real, but at what price, and for how long? Europe says it wants this war to continue! Are they willing to keep paying for it?

If they say yes now, what happens when Zelensky asks for the next $250 billion?

One could argue Trump isn’t “siding with Russia,” he’s recognizing the cost and trying to force a shift.

The war won’t end unless the incentives change.

If this is the case why blame Trump for seeing what no one else wants to admit?"

The Vigilant Fox:

"NEW: Elon Musk delivers an emotional message to the rich people who have lost their love for America.

“There’s a lot of rich people out there. They should be caring more about the country because the reason they should be caring more about the country is if America falls.”

“What do you think’s gonna happen to your business? What do you think? Do you think you’re gonna be okay if the ship of America sinks?”

“If America is the central pillar holding up Western civilization, that pillar must be strong. If that pillar falls, the whole roof comes crashing down… there’s no place to run.”"

It is very rare for me to comment on politics here. If America wants to elect a convicted criminal as President it is none of my business. However, Trump's negotiating tactic with Putin is certainly unusual. 'Quos deus vult perdere, prius dementat.' One does not normally give away one's entire negotiating position before the talks even start. With regard to Trump's various other claims, please look at this article
Zelensky is a dictator in the same way as Winston Churchill was a dictator. Britain does not hold elections in wartime. There was a coalition government from 1940 until the end of WW2. And of course Zelensky could have ended the war three years ago: he could have surrendered.
There is a cartoon in one of the British newspapers today showing Trump as a poodle being led on a leash by Putin, but I forbear to post it.

The thing with Trump is he is always negotiating. You have to take his statements with a grain of salt as much of Trump's claims are outright falsehoods to get a response or outcome.

Now, with Russia I agree with Trump that to work towards peace Russia has to be involved. The US is meeting with Ukraine, so why not meet with Russia? Can the US or Europe achieve an end to the war without involving Russia?

Europe has continued the war in the Ukraine. So has the US. Europe lends money to Ukraine and the US gave money to Ukraine to help delay Russia, but peace cannot be had without dialog with Russia (you could end the war without involving Ukraine, but that wouldn't be good).

Another part is the US interest in gaining peace between the two nations. This is partly....if not primarily....related to mineral deposits. Ultimately that is Europe's interest as well.

I have no problem with Trump seeking to bring about peace between Ukraine and Russia - far from it! I think it might have been done with greater effect two years or so ago. But to throw Ukraine under a 'bus as he appears to be doing will not bring about peace, but subjection for the Ukrainians and encouragement for Putin to try his luck against Moldova and elsewhere. Also, if Russia gets its hands on all those rare minerals in Ukraine, you may be sure that the USA will not get hold of them.

But God remains in charge in all these things. 'Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass .......... I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more. Indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found' (Psalm 37:7, 35-36).

Trump is transparent to his own hurt. You criticize him because you don't know.

BINGO! He's constantly non-stop trolling. This drives thin-skinned types mad.
