UN ambassador Nikki Haley to leave at end of year

President Donald Trump said Tuesday U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is leaving the administration “at the end of the year.”

Trump spoke as he and Haley met in the Oval Office, shortly after word came of her plans to resign.

He called Haley a “very special” person, adding that she told him six months ago that she might want to take some time off. Trump said that together, they had “solved a lot of problems.”

It’s the latest shake-up in the turbulent Trump administration just weeks before the November midterm election.

No reason for the resignation was immediately provided.

OK, I think she is perhaps positioning herself for a senatorial run 2020-2024 then presidential 2024.

Then of course she could be tired of the games played inside the beltway and is returning to "private life".

Maybe one day folks will learn that they CANNOT parse the actions of Trump a'la' a common everyday beltway politician. He will make a liar out of you every time if your try to pin-point his actions!

No one stays in that job very long. It is an overrated job. As time goes by, the UN becomes less and less important. It is a thankless job and a lot of UN representatives from other countries really belong in a prison somewhere. There is some talk that they might nominate that homosexual ambassador to Germany for the job. They should downgrade it to the point where we just send a career diplomat there. It makes me sick that we have had to fund that place all these years and we can't even get it out of this country because no one in the world wants that thing around.
