Unconditional Eternal Security

I was just reading a web page- in reference to Eternal Security.
A speaker of The Church of Christ believes in Eternal Security - but not
unconditional Eternal security.

Is there a difference?

In general no one knows when they will die. Unless God who saves, keeps those whom He saves, none are safe in any claim of salvation. The idea of conditional eternal security of the believer is no security of eternal life at all, because that is not having eternal life. Either one has eternal life now or not, there is no middle in this.

To believe one can have eternal life now and some how die and not have eternal life is irrational.

How long is "eternal life", one day? one week? one year?, one eternity?

Christ's sheep, to whom the promises are made, hear the Shepherd's voice, and they follow Him. If someone is not listening to the Shepherd's voice and not following Him, what reason would he have to suppose that he is one of Christ's sheep? Such people, far from being known by Christ, will one day hear Him say to them, "I never knew you!" (Matthew 7:23). Not, "I knew you once, but then forgot about you." They were never part of Christ's flock and never partakers of the promise of John 10:28.

Indeed. There is no "if" involved : If they hear my voice, if they follow me...

1) Generally no one knows when they will die.
2) If one dies and does not go to Heaven, one did not have eternal life when they died.
3) Claiming to have had eternal life makes no sense.
