The United States government reportedly began coordinating with NATO its plans for a possible military attack against Iran.

The German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel collected various reports from the German media indicating that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are examining the prospects of such a strike.

According to the report, CIA chief Porter Gus, in his last visit to Turkey on December 12, requested Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to provide military bases to the United States in 2006 from where they would be able to launch an assault.

A very good posturing that defines our interest in having Iran lessen its enthusiam for terrorism and becoming more transparent with their nuclear program.

Will North Korea, Libya and Syria be next? Does our military have the man power needed for all of these regime changes in the Middle East and Asia? How will we pay for this democracy spreading venture?

Iraq was just the beginning, a pretense for a wider conflict that was planned long before 9/11. Donald Kagan, a central member of PNAC, sees America establishing permanent military bases in Iraq after the war. I guess that does away with any exit strategy. According to PNAC, America must reposition permanently based forces to Southern Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The regime changes in these countries known as the "asix of evil" are required for PNAC's goals to be accomplished. I wonder how the administration would have tried to convince Congress and the American people the need to invade these countries if 9/11 would have never happened, which means we wouldn't have had this "war on terror"?

I was simply reading it as "posturing" and only that. But if we did have to chase down terrorists in these various countries, I think we've shown that this President won't mess around, and they'd be unwilling to resist to hard.

I don't think we have the heart or desire nationally to defend democracy or human rights anywhere else.

Take it from someone in the military. We are spread very thin and many of my commrades are on their 3rd term of 6 months or more to Afgan or Iraq. This is not what we need.

If we attack Iranian nuclear facilities, it won't take much manpower from our stretched lines; all it will take is an Air Force Lt. and an Air Force Capt. in a silo. Turn the key, push the button, and have a cup of fresh coffee.

Oh, by the way, the Jerusalem Post might have a slight bit of wishful thinking. If definite plans are in the making to zap the Iranian nuke program, I'd say the Mossad is more likely involved than the CIA.

The United States will always have some contingency plans in the works and they would be amiss if they did not have them.

Lots of contingencies, yup. The rumor was that SAC had a MIRV or two targeted to San Francisco just in case the USSR missed.

Given the growing capability by these rogue nations to acquire nuclear weapons, we would be irresponsible to not be making such plans.

How will we pay for this democracy spreading venture?

Such plans have nothing to do with spreading democracy but with eliminating plans to attack our Republic.

It's easy for you guys to sit there and say we need to do away this country or that country or this leadership or that leadership, because they are "bad".

When, not IF, but when our country gets attached again, I don't want not one of you to say that we should take them out, or that they had no right to do that etc etc.

If we go running into a country, Iran or any other country that isn't causing us any harm, that hasn't done anything to us, they haven't even "puffed up their chest" at us, and yet, we think we have to go in and "save" the world.

Please... Why, because they have nuclear weapons? Don't we? Don't several countries? What makes us any different?

Why is it that we think we have been promoted as "hall monitor" of the World?

This kind of talk makes me sick. And for those that will say, well if we don't fight it there, then we will have to fight it here... That is hogwash!

This world is doomed, in case you didn't read the ending of book... We will live in much much harder times than now, what makes us think we can "change" that?

Don't you guys believe enough in God to trust that he will protect his people, and if you die, well it's might be because it's your time, and God is calling you home?

    Wake up!

I view us as the protector of His Gospel unto salvation and not merely protecting our democracy.

The amount of products we buy from China gives me the idea they will have the monetary power to become greater than our nation, militarily speaking, some years down the line. Plus, our outsourcing is killing us financially.

Israel made a strike on Iran before; get ready for it to happen again either by us or them and our eye is also on North Korea.

What if Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and the hordes of African Muslims invade us from Alaska, the west or east coast? Do we have enough troops here to protect our citizens?

I always figure the President and his official know more about what is going on in our world than we do. Perhaps we have to trust them and the Lord's providence on our behalf as well as Canada to our north.

The Muslim capital of the USA is Dearborn, Michigan. (outside of Detroit) The typical "call to prayer" five times a day blasts out, just as in any Muslim country.

You don't have to worry about hordes of African Muslims invading us from Alaska. There are already anywhere from between 5 million to 8 million Muslims here in America, strategically placed in, not only large cities, but in small communities (such as in Maine and North Carolina), and all throughout the heartland.

At every nearly university and institute of higher education there is an active branch of anti-American Muslim Student Association which recruits. They took down some of their anti-American links from web sites, shortly after 09/11. They must appear legitimate at all costs and have protected Constitutional rights.

Virtually every city in America has a mosque and all up and down the Eastern Seaboard, there are the same madrassas they have in the Middle East, all funded by Saudi Arabia, which teach death to Israel and America, the little and great Satans.

Jihad websites are up and running, accessible all over the world, hosted and served by North American servers. (There are several million Muslims in Canada doing this, too.) They are extremely active politically, using CAIR (for one) to influence our policy makers on capitol hill, and are so powerful, they have succeeded in getting talk show hosts fired for speaking out against Muslim ideology, for example.

    (see http://www.anti-cair-net.org/ )

When the big jihad on America starts, and it will, (this is the third jihad - learn about it here (one of many sources) http://www.vicmord.com )

it only takes a few suitcase nukes in a few major cities to start the chaos. Then, if only 10% of the 5-8 million Muslims (assuming the other 90% are what a lot of Americans call "moderate Muslims") decide to start going door to door and chopping off heads or using their (unregistered guns, of course) AKs, or RPGs (and they do have them) to take out jetliners, there isn't enough military, Homeland Security, or state or local law officials to protect the citizens from the chaos and blood shed that will ensue. And don't think it can't happen here. It's in the works, folks.

During Desert Storm (1991), when there was only one cable news channel (CNN), I remember seeing a mullah (from Chicago, I think it was), being interviewed. He said all he had to do was give the word and all the Muslims in America would be rioting. At the time, I remember thinking, that was a pretty scary thought.

At the time, I knew little about what Islam taught or the history of Islam or the political ideology. I just thought it was a misguided religion and that everyone who came to America was coming here because we were the greatest country on earth and they wanted to reach for the American (meaning assimilated) dream. That was 10-1/2 years before 09/11 and now, 15 years ago, when there were several million fewer "American" Muslims. And a few million less illegal aliens coming and going over our unprotected borders.

If I didn't know Jesus Christ as my personal saviour, I would be totally freaked out with terror at the possibilities. And what is predicted and being allowed to come. Kind of like the lobster in the cold pot theory.

I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. But it is a possibility that even though we are raptured, before that happens, before the Great Tribulation, we may have to undergo persecution at the hands of those who hate Christ before the Rapture occurs - pre-birth pangs, labor pains.

Our Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ are being persecuted (primarily by Muslims) all over the planet. They are being butchered, tortured, seeing those they love beheaded or raped before their eyes, because the Muslims are on their Third Jihad. Taking over country after country. First by immigration, and then, when powerful enough and sufficient numbers, by force. It is the history of how they do things. They long for a totally complete Muslim planet where all worship allah.

The question each Christian sitting behind a keyboard and pondering all of this must ask himself or herself is, in the worst case scenario, is my faith strong enough to endure to the end?

If my children are dismembered or placed in tires soaked with gasoline and then lit on fire, will I do anything to save them, even embrace allah and denounce Jesus Christ? If I am raped by a gang of thugs who are then going to saw off my head, will I endure to the end?

I hope we are not so comfortable and so blind as Americans and Christians and so naive that we believe it can never happen here. We didn't think 09/11 could happen, either.

My Salvation is in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Even So Come, Lord Jesus.

    Jamie,

It's easy for you guys to sit there and say we need to do away this country or that country or this leadership or that leadership, because they are "bad".

I'm not sure why the quote marks around "bad". Do you not believe that Iranian or North Korean leaders (read Kim Jong-Il) are bad? Or do you not believe that bad leaders exist? Or are all bad and therefore American Presidents are morally equivalent?

When, not IF, but when our country gets attached again, I don't want not one of you to say that we should take them out, or that they had no right to do that etc etc.

So, we are to blame if we are attacked? Do you also blame the U.S. for September 11 (not an unfair question; there are some who do)?

Please... Why, because they have nuclear weapons? Don't we? Don't several countries? What makes us any different?

I guess that answers my first question. The answer is that we haven't made threats against other countries, just because we dislike them, as Iran has against Israel (even very recently), and as North Korea does against South Korea. Let's not forget a state of war still exists in the case of the latter. Such moral equivalency is truly sickening, of the same variety as that that equated American liberty with Soviet tyranny. Would you have asked was Nazi Germany "any different" before September 30, 1939? Would you also say that just because God possesses destructive power it makes Him no better than Satan?

    Some counsel/info worth considering:

    SOURCE

I don't believe that we should attack Iran now. I DO believe that we must seek to end their progress diplomatically but that since that has shown NO signs of progress we are foolish not to begin to make such plans now.

Don't you guys believe enough in God to trust that he will protect his people, and if you die, well it's might be because it's your time, and God is calling you home?

Would you have asked the same question on the afternoon of December 7, 1941?

I put the quote marks around bad because everyone is bad. Human nature is to be bad. Just because they do stuff I don't believe in or wouldn't do, does make them any worse than me. Of course, I am talking Bibically here, because to me, the "fight" of good vers evil is only me, with God's grace and help, against Satan.

I do, I blame a lot of variables. I blame the US, I blame the groups that cause the troubles. However, I believe God is utlimately in control, so whatever happens, happens because it's suppose to happen. Period. The way this started, and the this will end is not a mystery to God. Since I trust in God, I have to trust in his plan, no matter what road that takes me down.

No, of course you're right. We make threats against other countries because we were elected to monitor the world right? Of course, we always have a "reason", but that doesn't make it a right reason. Ever heard the saying that you can fire anyone from any job for most any reason? That is true, you can find something in everyone where they are not doing they job, and thus can fire them for "just cause". The same principal applies here, you can find a "just cause" and call it a reason, and then you have your entry point for war.

You see, that is my point, what makes what we're doing any better than the Soviet's? Just because we have our "just cause"? Just because we are doing what we think is "right"? The error in this thinking is to think they EVERYONE wants our kind of democracy. If we are to spread our way of thinking around, why haven't we "changed" all the countries that isn't a democracy, set up exactly like ours?

Now, this doesn't even justify a response, because I think we all know better. How dumb is this statement.

No, just wait in the bushes, wait for the "right" time to have the "just cause" and then pounce! Why not leave them alone until they directly, DIRECTLY I said threat us, or until a country they have threaten ASKS us for help?

Actually, I wouldn't. I won't born yet, and even if I were, I won't a Christian until some time later. [IMG]

    LadyEagle,

Both of those articles are old. They have been saying things like this forever. Saying them and doing them are two different things.

Give me some recent quotes that tell us that we're under attack. Where we have to get ready to fight.. something other than words, hate, and hot air.

Also, keep in mind, the more we provoke them, the more they will hate, and offer quotes like the above. My question would be who started it, and why? And how do we stop it without all this talk of "fighting" every country that doesn't agree with us.

Also, Who made us "Hall Monitor" of the world? Is that in the Bible?, that America will help protect the world etc? No, I don't think so.

    Jamie
Peace works more than fighting... look to Jesus for that example.

    LadyEagle--

Excellent links--bookmarked them all. America truly needs to wake up to the threat of Islam and stop placating them--they don't want peace. Their own religion and holy book, the Koran, teach them otherwise. They hate the God of the Bible and God's people.

This article didn't shed any new light on this matter. It in fact, I believe shows my point.

In the article itself, it states:

"The Psalmist made no mistake when he commandednot suggestedwe pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122.6)."

Doesn't this suggest that peace and prayer should be used more so than war?

Also, the writer of the article, Jan Markell, has a website that is found at: http://www.olivetreeviews.org.

On that website, in their stated purpose is this statement, which I believe again supports my view.

    Quote from their Purpose Statement:

While we like to tell people He shall soon appear in His glory, we also urge them to not focus on the day or hour of the Lord’s return, but to be about evangelizing the lost while there is still time. That is the central message of an “end-time” ministry or else it places its focus on the wrong emphasis.

We don't know when the end is coming, and in fact Jesus told us no one would know the exact time, but he did tell us to Go out and Spread his word, which I believe we should be doing more so than picking a fight to "save this world" or "our country"

As Christians, we should be able to see the bigger picture here. Yes, it's nice to live in a free country, and not have to worry about others attacking us, and yes it would be nice if we could play "world enforcer", but as Christians, that shouldn't be our focus or worries. We are to go out and spread his word. Bring people to Christ, and a natural process is there are less "evil/bad" people in the world.

We should not go out picking a fight, or even looking into the idea of picking a fight. That's not in our Great Commission.

    Just my opinion.

    Jamie
