Out of all countries US works with Israel is the most parasitic. US gains nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing by having Israel as an ally.
Trump walked away from JCPOA in part to spite Obama and in part under pressure from Israel which felt the deal never covered Iran exporting ‘terrorism’ (read Hezbollah and Houthis). But US largest partner in ME, Saudi Arabia is the biggest exporter of terrorism. Clearly, Iran was and is not a threat to the US but to Israel. If the US spent as much energy containing Saudi Arabia then the world would be a safer place.
The US should cut off Israel and focus in real existential threats of China and Russia instead of being bogged down by an inconsequential patch of land.
