US SPACE FORCE

The space program will be good for things like new tools and batteries and such. When I first started doing woodworking you could not buy a better sander, router, drill or jigsaw than a Rockwell which their development came through working with NASA. Porter-Cable eventually bought them out then merged with Delta and the quality slowly started going down while other brands started catching up but there was nothing in Rockwell's league for years. I expect new horizons and development to come from this program.

Then there was Tang, remember that? Wireless headsets, freeze dried food, even shoes...

Velcro, Tang, freeze dried foods, scratch resistant lenses, pens that write upside down, etc. were serendipitous consumer applications of space-based devices. The US Space Force is not tasked with creating products for consumers, just as NASA was not intended to make consumer goods. If any consumer products come from this endeavor it will be a happy side benefit.

The US Space Force has published the "Artemis Accords", guidelines and principles for exploring the moon and mining its resources. Intending to bolster the existing 1967 Outer Space Treaty, which stipulated peaceful exploration of space and non-ownership of the moon, the Artemis Accords apparently does just the opposite.

Among things the Artemis Accords layout is the concept of "safety zones" or areas that should be respected by other nations as off-limits to them unless permission is granted. No "harmful interference" will be allowed by other nations in another nation's safety zone.

"Specifically, via the Artemis Accords, NASA and partner nations will provide public information regarding the location and general nature of operations which will inform the scale and scope of 'Safety Zones,'" NASA officials wrote.

The Artemis Accords do not mention who will enforce such "Safety Zones", or what entity will gather the public information.

I have a pretty good idea it will be the US Space Force.

Buzz Corey and Happy were members of Space Patrol, and their ships landed tail first, just like the recent digital picture showed.
But earth was called "Terra" and I never got it when I was about 10.

I think globalists might see the united federation of planets as the future, whereas the Space Force is nationally based.

So where was the Space Force academy located at when Lt James T Kirk received his commission?

Where was the Space Patrol based? Buzz Corey et al.

EDIT

OOPS I did not remember that it was the United Planets Space Patrol, my bad.

The memory of an old person frequently fails, at least with this old person.

The "spin-off effect."

I've never heard this but I've always thought we put our flag on it first we should own it. Figuring Trump, he want us to have, or maybe better said "keep" control of it.

A while back, I linked to an article from Imprimis (“The Urgent Need for a United States Space Force”) explaining the need for a truly separate Space Force not limited by an existing branch. China is biting at our heels and practically eating our lunch.

The author, Lt. Gen. Steven L. Kwast (USAF Ret.), argues that whoever gains the first secure foothold in space will control what happens there and consequently on planet earth. Letting Communist China be the one will be far worse than what we’re suffering through with COVID-19.

Unless the Dems have their way. Then it will pretty much be Game Over for us anyway.
