use for old socks

I've been told that week-old socks make excellent coffee filters, especially if they haven't been washed.

Can't say that I've actually tried using them this way though!!

I'm sure that they'd create a distinctive aromatic smell!!

Any takers?

Maybe if you briskly stir your cup of coffee with a two-week old sock, it'll give it a much bolder taste.....Yah think??

The cotton ones I butterfly and keep as rags,

We uaually give our old socks and t-shirts to my father-in-law, because he is always piddling around on something, and he can use them as oil rags.

BTW, cut the toe out of a sock, and you can slide it on your forearm, and it's quite handy while slingin' the weedeater. It protects the forearm from the weedeater motor, which tends to get a wee-bit hot when ran for about 2.5 hrs.

Heheh, to make a straight jacket for a cat, cut the toe out of a sock and slide the cantankerous contrary feline through till his head pops out and then put the pill that he needs down his throat; watch out though, that end has teeth..... :)
