Using hi-tech when preaching

I don't mind powerpoint. It was used very effectively in my former church.

We don't have it at my new church yet.

I'd love one of those gizmo things that the preacher used for his sermon--I'd have the words to the songs I sing on it--that way I wouldn't have to carry my words on a piece of paper--but I'm sure it would decide not to work as soon as I needed it. Then I'd panic for sure! lol

Do you think you limit the Holy Spirit when you use powerpoint, big screen when preaching from pulpit?

I don't see how. But then, I don't see how one can limit the Holy Spirit in the first place.

I listen to James White a lot and he's always talking about some new gadget he's found. I also have a friend who uses a "tablet", which I think is the one that's like a laptop, but looks like an Etch-a-Sketch.

He likes it because he can keep all his notes in one place.

Personally, I find it distracting. When I teach, I use PowerPoint but, for preaching, it would just be distracting.

I'm not against it, it's just not my preference.
