Using Sheep was Apropos

Christ died for His sheep. So regardless of the slur that anti-vaxxers have attached to sheep, I am thankful to God that I am one of Christ's sheep. And I will continue refer to myself as one of Christ's sheep, regardless of how much disdain anti-vaxxers feel toward the word.

"Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock!" - Zechariah 11:17

Your anger appears to be badly misplaced, Two Wings. You should stop disparaging the "sheep" and direct your comments towards those whom you might deem to be "worthless shepherds" instead.

I'm not angry good sir, you can repeat that ad nauseam, but you'll be continually in error if you do ... but you have suggested that because Jesus referred to His as sheep that any reference to sheep has to be in that context and it's simply untrue.

I used this passage to illustrate this. Shepherd. Jesus is the Good Shepherd; on that I expect we can agree. There is a worthless shepherd, too. Both are shepherds. The exact same word.

I have already proven through the Scriptures, especially the book of Hebrews, the falseness of your eschatology in our private conversation a while back. But this is not the thread for that and I see no point in rehashing our prior discussion.

eschatology has very little relevance here. We're talking word definition/usage. regardless if you accept or reject Zechariah is describing the antichrist ... it's NOT Jesus ... but the same word is used.

Your sensitivity to an accurate use of the word "sheep" is the issue.

I mean ... for someone who doesn't recognize the cv jabs are a tool to consolidate governmental power ... it's problematic. I can see that.

But here's a consideration: the use of a term because it may offend doesn't mean the use of the term is inaccurate.

Two Wings, we agreed that Christ is the Good Shepherd. Let's end this discussion on that positive note of agreement. :Thumbsup

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? Eze 34:2

The condition of the world?
Who are the shepherds? Is the good Dr. a shepherd or a sheep? Is Mr. Gates a shepherd or a sheep? Is Mr. President (if in truth he was duly elected) a shepherd or a sheep? Has he been a shepherd most of his life?

Eze 34:7-10 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

In the OP who are the shepherds, feeding????????????????????????????????????????????

Eze 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

Lord, teach us to pray,

When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. (???Crucify him???) And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

Occupy - to carry on a business - And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matt 24:14

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, <??? Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, ?) and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will? For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, <the inhabited earth) whereof we speak.

“And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.
