is there even a "best way to worship God" ?? Jarthur?

i have a hard time believin' that there are better ways to worship God than others...

i listen to christian rap. (and no it's not an oxymoron as most people on this forum think... from what i read) this is one of the ways i worship God/Jesus is listenin' to rap/hip-hop music that glorifies Jesus. i also listen to christian rock (also not an oxymoron) that glorifies God/Jesus an' all that has to do with Him. christian techno/electronic is great also, although there are not many words with this style of music. i know it still glorifies the one and only God. emo, heavy metal christian music.... i listen to that style that glorifies Jesus.

it depends on the person's choice of music for what he/she determines as "best" worship.

and yet there is no "best" way to worship.

music is not the only way to worship God with. our prayers and praises are a way of worship. when we read and learn from the word, that's a different way of worship. when we share our faith and acknowledge God in every aspect, that's a way to worship God.

music is just one way to worship God. it's not better than the others, and it's not worse than the others.

if a musician is truly christian, than he/she would write solely 'bout God and/or about situations that God has help'd thru etc.

all i was doing was questioning what you wrote "is this the best way to worhip God???"

Rock is a great way to worship God... as long as it is actually worshipping God, and glorifying Him.

i hope this makes sense...

No Direction Home is fantastic. It sheds light on Dylan's origin and influences and sticks to the music.

Plus there is footage and tons of pictures never seen on anything else available through official purchase.

I think the pacing and editing is excellent as well. It has a way of maintaining a chronological narrative while still presenting events and stage performances out of the order in which they happened.

 

I was en route to Philadelphia on a business trip when it was aired on PBS. I guess I will be ordering the dvd as well.

How did it compare with the documentary done in the sixties?

Like I said before, I am never giving up on Mr. Zimmerman. I am not giving up on John Mellencamp either, but that is another topic for another discussion........

I especially like when Dylan said that the idea that songwriters and artists have more insight to the way things should be was "absurd".

I've seen Dylan probably 20 times, in concert, and I really do love just about everything he's done. But he's not the spokesman of a generation, or a prophet, or anything like that. He's a guy who can write great songs. Period.

Mellencamp, well I support your right to like him, I never have.

D. A. Pennebaker presented Dylan as cocky and arrogant, Scorsese presents the man who was constantly breaking out of the box everyone was trying to put him in.

The live footage is the biggest treat for me. I've never seen alot of this stuff before.
