Vice Presidential Debate Comments

Now this is what a debate is supposed to be like. Good job by both men. I'm still surprised at how well Biden is doing. Keep expecting him to stick his foot in his mouth, but nothing yet.

Biden, with his constant interruptions, appears desperate and frustrated.

Ryan is what I expected, calm and competent. And not desperate.

By the way Biden did gaff tonight when he said intelligence told the admin that the Lybia killing was a result of the video. In fact pundits said in doing so he made news tonight.

It was close, but I think Ryan won the debate. Biden often over-reacted, I do not think that helped him. Ryan was always under complete control which I believe does help the Romney team.

I simply believe that Romney and Ryan appear more competent than Obama and Biden. Folks are looking for someone who can really do the job, I think Romney and Ryan are winning in this respect.

I think Ryan's point about taxing all the wealthiest Americans at 100% only running the government for 98 days was devastating, but no one seems to talk about it.

We hear the Dems always talking about tax cuts for the wealthy but obviously that is a drop in the bucket in handling our financial problems. I wish Ryan would have been more passionate about that and made that point over and over. I wanted him to yell:

YOU CAN'T FIX THE ECONOMY BY TAKING FROM THE RICH TO GIVE TO THE POOR....IT HAS NEVER WORKED AND IT NEVER WILL! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BRING ONE CLASS DOWN IN ORDER TO LIFT ANOTHER CLASS UP! WE HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM. YOUR PARTY WANTS TO TAKE MORE MONEY FROM RICH PEOPLE AND GIVE IT TO THE RICH PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON SO THEY CAN SPEND IT, HOW DOES THAT FIX OUR FINANCIAL PROBLEM! HOW DOES THAT CREATE JOBS!!!

I cannot figure out why you are so angry against the Democratic ticket with all you both have in common. For example, neither one of you knows how to spell Libya.

Also, if you are going to analyze the debate then do so, instead of a series of meaningless one liners.

Back to the op, I thought Ryan was well mannered, calm, in control, and not rude. My impression of this man is that he is strong in his beliefs, and if he were the President, he would follow those beliefs instead of polls. The VP choice makes me feel much better about voting for the ticket. I believe this man to be sure of himself, and I even sense a spark of wanting to serve the people instead of himself. Even if this ticket loses, this man has a future in national leadership positions.

It is hard to explain, but the substance of the Republican ticket seems to rest with Ryan. I will hand it to Romney, that was an excellent pick. Just a gut feeling, but this is someone to admire vs Romney who gets votes based on the lesser of two evils.

Now to be totally fair, Joe Biden did better than I expected. I did not like his constant smirks, and his arrogant attitude, but he did convey his ideas well. Also, he did not do the damage Obama did to the ticket in the first debate.

Overall, Ryan won without a doubt. He is a refreshing politician.

Wasn't a gaff it was a blatant lie!
OR, I think we have a real leader in Ryan for the future. He is a departure from the Republican nominees since Reagan, (ie Bush, Bush and McCain). One day a Ryan-Rand Paul ticket would be perfect, IMO. One can see the difference for example when Rand Paul ran for US Senate from Kentucky. In the primary, McConnell (Senate minority leader and consummate career politician) did everything he could to see Paul was defeated in the primary. In the general election, McConnell pretty much stayed quiet. Paul got 58% of the vote. It is my hope in 2014 someone will knock McConnell out of the race in the primary.

I think Biden did better than Obama. That's just in answering the questions. His demeanor was juvenile as was his constant interrupting. Obama and Biden remind me of a couple of junior high bullies who think they are smarter than they really are.

There were times when it seemed like Ryan was debating both Biden and the moderator. However, the moderator did better than I expected.

One of my friends reminded me of this verse this morning

Pro 29:9 When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, The foolish man either rages or laughs, and there is no rest. (NASB)
