    Bob,

I have no problem with it. An Arminian is this because of their views..and that is what we all do...we share our views. I have asked many times...just let Bob do it. But i do not own the message board..nor do i own the other web site where i tried to get an Arminian to help judge. I asked for this..not because i'm arminian..but because i want a fair playing field.

All websites have rules. They told me hear i can not post on the "Baptist Only" treads..because the front of my church says "Bible Church" and not Baptist. My Bible Church holds to the Baptist faith, but one must be called baptist on order to post. Hey...its their board..they pay the bills....they make the rules

But since this debate will be held on another website...you need to ask them if its ok. I do not see why you can't...but maybe the owners do.

I do have a better understanding of your post..now that i know you are 7th day. Thats all i'm saying in my post. Others that brought this up...are admins...and have power to pull the plug...or change the text...or make rules.

    i'm just a poster.

Well...even if this is not a rule...others will see.

I have had things posted to prove the other side... with quotes from pagans, agnostic, heretics and athesit. This didn't help the Arminian view, it hurt it when i showed them as such.

If my posts appeal to "Adventist sources" to make their case then it might well be that there exists a Calvinist or Arminian out there that would not accept the "proofs" I give for Arminianism.

However - as those can attest who read my posts -- not only do I not quote Adventist sources I also do not quote Arminian sources of any kind.

I typically quote CALVINIST sources when not quoting the Bible and appealing to "exegesis" and "paying attention to the details" of scripture that Calvinism derails.

This means that if one is going to object to my methods they must either object to Calvinists or to the Bible, or to exegesis or to the idea of "paying attention to details".

There is nothing else in the posts.

If one argues "Yes but it is easy for Bob to be Arminian since all Adventists are Arminian" -- then "guilty as charged".

So far I have not seen that objection.

    In Christ,

    Bob

Understood. I was not trying to say anything negative about you. In fact I thought of the same question that Diane posed in the OP and would be more than happy to have another Arminian engage in the debate on Spurgeon.US.

I am already posting over there on a number of different topics - but I certainly don't want to violate any rules of the board as you point out.

One of my "rules" is that things should always stay objective and focused on the text/facts etc. And Diane brings up a good point that deserves consideration.

I suppose I am "thinking out loud" - in my previous posts more than anything else.

    In Christ,

    Bob

For the record, we do not demand that all participants in our debate be of any particular denomination. I have plans to invite catholics and others to our debate section at some point in the future.

That said, the debate will be regarding some aspect of Calvinism/Arminianism. These belief systems are not dependant on any particular denomination. One may be a Calvinist and exist within almost any protestant denom and vice a versa with Arminianism.

If Bob and RC wanna settle on it, we'll get the debate started asap. I put it up to a vote because I figured it would be a bit like this.

RC and Bob? Final decision? What are your opinions?

There are no rules about what you can or cannot say in defense of your position. The main rule we have in our debate forum is:

    no personal attacks

Other than that you can quote the man in the moon for all I care. So long as you can win the debate in a cordial fashion, do what needs to be done.
