She is correct. $4 is too expensive for a cup of coffee. Her economic status is irrelevant to the factual statement she made.
I agree with your principle
Why should we expect wealthy people to be content in paying too much for consumer goods? That's kinda the mentality of the left - the wealthy has enough money so it's OK to take from them.
That said, I paid $4 for coffee all week. It depends on your location, the coffee, and how much you want/need the coffee.
I needed a lot of coffee (I was in vacation in NY).
