"Warrenites" is a derogatory term that someone who is against the teachings of Rick Warren has coined. I do not follow the teachings of Rick Warren but of the Lord through His Word. However, there are men of God out there who have helped me to organize some of my thoughts to be able to focus on what God wants me to be about. I know our pastor has done the same thing and there are certain things that I will remember - with the Scripture to back it up - so that I can be more effective in my life and in my teaching others. Of course NONE of us should follow a man - or listen to his teachings without studying them for ourselves. I've learned a lot this way.

Rick Warren is a man. He's human. He's fallible as are all of us. However, he is not the Antichrist nor is he a demon. While I don't agree with everything he has said, much of what he has said is right on and solid. But of course, there will be people who will be against anyone who uses anything but the KJV (as we see above - calling the Message an "abomination" which is very strong words - it's not a version but a paraphrase but I don't think even God would call it an abomination), who does anything differently than them or maybe, just maybe, is a little successful. I admire a lot of things about this guy and he's a man who's heart is towards the Lord.

Not only is calling a version of the Bible an abomination very strong words, it is a bannable offense on Baptistboard.

On a message board where nothing is ABSOLUTE, why do you folks think that a humanistic ministry wouldn't be the rage?

If you don't like us, don't stick around...
Seperate from us sinners if you think we are soo bad...

PDC is not based on Humanistic principles.. it is based on Acts 2:42-47
It is based upon what the early church did...

Worshipped, fellowshipped, discipled believers, evangelized the world, and took care (did ministry) of each other...

If you don't think the church should do these, you take it up with God...

Warren demonstrated that for a church to be a balanced, growing church, it must incorporate these same 5 things the early church did...

some churches go overboard on evangelism, but forget to disciple
Some disciple but never evangelize
Some fellowship, but never worship God
Some worship God too much, and never evangelize the lost
Some churches do ministry within the membership, but never reach out to the lost.
Can you not see this in churches you have seen?

The key is balance...
And that is what Warren is promoting..

I grew up in the 70s and 80s, and I heard this preached then.
It was around before Warren...
Luke wrote about it.

Warren just explained how to do it to the 21st century...

PDL uses the same principles as in ACts also.. they apply at the personal level.

Quit insulting us here on Baptistboard.. if you don't like us, leave.

Looks like some folks WANT to be banned. Must think it a badge of honor in their group to attack, hate, defame God's Word and judge God's servants and then think WE are bad for banning them.

Sickens me. :(
