    "Christians?" killing Christians Wars--

    e.g. Jesuits vs. Heretics?

Yes, part of the War against God--it has been raging since Lucifer was cast out of heaven.

The Bride has been assaulted--never successfully. She is still out there--undefiled.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Back on subject: WW-II, The Big one.

Would anyone like to retrospect the possible connection between Adolf Hitler and the "holy see"?

Sorry, this may not be the right thread.

No, not in any realistic way. Unless you believe everything Jack Chick says.

Prior to WW2 the Lutherans and the Presbyterians were working together in missions to spread Chrisitianity across the world, in WW2 they were killing each other, many other western protestants killed german protestants in WW2.

Christians used by world governments to kill one another.

This comment made me think of a story that a former pastor of mine once told. He was a Navy ship's chaplain during the war and was on board when his ship sank a German submarine. The surviving sub crewmen were brought aboard the ship and he talked with one of the English-speaking men. The German asked the preacher which denomination he was with, and when the pastor said Baptist, the captured crewman told him that he was a Baptist as well.

When I lived in south Florida back in the 80s, there was an elderly German couple who taught the my youngest son's Sunday school class. The man had been a German Army officer during the war. He said that he and his wife were living in Romania when the NAZIs swept through, and because he was of German descent, he was forced into the military and taken along with them. After the war, he and his wife ended up on opposite sides of the iron curtain. It was nine years from the time of their separation before they were reunited in the U.S.

That is interesting real-life drama--trauma is a better word.

Surely, God does not will that His people be in conflict. It is sad that the "powers that be" have made cannon fodder of the able bodied.

The spiritual warfare has become a physical nightmare.

This is more evidence for: the total depravity of man.

God allows it--soon He will come on a white horse and rule with a rod of iron. It will not be good for the ungodly.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

    Bro. James (et. al.)--

You are correct that when Jesus Christ comes back to this earth the second time He will be riding on a white horse.

Moreover, according to Rev. 19:15-21, out of His mouth will proceed a sharp sword whereby which apparently quite a few people will be put to death.

It was said of one of my "preacher heroes"---the late, great expositor of the truth from the Truth, Dr. Stephen Olford----the story goes that he was a Chaplain during the war and participated in D-Day invasion----he stood by the railing of the particular troop ship and as the soldiers disembarked into their landing craft---he would hand out those little New Testaments by the hundreds---and would tell the troops as they reached to get one-----"Have you made Jesus Savior and Lord of your life?? Make your peace with God today, Lads!!!"

Horrors of war---was it worth it???? To the victors---yes!! To the defeated---yes!
