Water Works

One of the sad realities of America's great divide, is that something started in one administration is now stopped in the next, such as energy independence or border security.

If the construction cannot be completed during the authorizing administration (4 to 8 years) the next administration will stop the endeavor and simply waste all the funds already expended. Think pipeline or border wall.

Now one of the long standing problems of America is the distribution of water, with the lands east of the Rocky Mountains getting enough and sometimes more than enough (i.e. flooding) but the lands west of the Rockies getting just enough or not enough water.

Now it may (and that is great big "may" ) be possible to study water supply levels and determine if water could be pumped and routed via canals from the Great Lakes area to Lake Powell, and from areas in the Mississippi River watershed to Lake Mead.

However, no such possibility can be explored because our derelict press lacks the competence to present technical issues accurately.

Simple questions to ask, why do we not have enough water? Or enough electrical generation capacity? Or enough fossil fuel domestic production?

Energy independence was accomplished while Obama was in office, but the market changes under Trump ended that for a time. When the price of oil plummeted during the pandemic that Trump refused to control, companies cut production and exploration activity because the price of oil was actually in negative territory.

We still have the same level of border security as before without the outrage of punitively separating children from their parents.

If the construction cannot be completed during the authorizing administration (4 to 8 years) the next administration will stop the endeavor and simply waste all the funds already expended.
The additional border wall funding was already wasted. No sense throwing good money after bad.

If the “pipeline” reference was to the Keystone Xl pipeline Phase 4 expansion, only 8% of the pipeline was constructed. The first three phases on the Keystone pipeline are operational and are currently moving petroleum through the US. I am quite aware of this because the Keystone pipeline terminates in my hometown on the coast of Texas.

Now one of the long standing problems of America is the distribution of water, with the lands east of the Rocky Mountains getting enough and sometimes more than enough (i.e. flooding) but the lands west of the Rockies getting just enough or not enough water.
That has to do with massive levels of development and reduced snowpack on the Rocky Mountains due to climate change.

Now it may (and that is great big "may" ) be possible to study water supply levels and determine if water could be pumped and routed via canals from the Great Lakes area to Lake Powell, and from areas in the Mississippi River watershed to Lake Mead.
As someone who worked for a water engineering firm for 13 years, there are all sorts of technical issues involved with that, including the issue of invasive species that would be transported across the nation to destroy the environment on the West Coast. Desalination plants would be a more cost-efficient and environmentally responsible solution. Also, the reduction of greenhouse gasses as a long-term assist to help slow global warming.

However, no such possibility can be explored because our derelict press lacks the competence to present technical issues accurately.
The press is not the problem here.

Simple questions to ask, why do we not have enough water? Or enough electrical generation capacity? Or enough fossil fuel domestic production?
There are complex reasons for all of these issues, but politics gets in the way of even discussing them.

There is no need to revise history. Mr. Obama blamed Mr. Bush for all the bad during Mr. Obama's administration, and now tries to take credit for all the good during Mr. Trump's administration. Pay no attention to those say Mr. Trump wanted to keep the schools closed or energy production curtailed.

When did America achieve energy independence? 2019, during Mr. Trump's administration.

We have record border crossings under Mr. Biden. So yet another blatant rewrite of history.

The fact of the water distribution of America did not start with the industrial reevaluation, explorers found it dry in the west and wet in the east in the 1500's.

We need a factual study of redistributing America's water, not a citation of potential problems to be overcome.

Of course the press is needed to apply political pressure to the problems facing America.

Neither Trump nor Obama caused energy independent, that became a reality through the technology of fracking. Those who are not familiar with the energy sector — especially the fracking revolution — are susceptible to Trump’s lie about being the influence. Those of us who have long-standing ties to the petroleum/natural gas industry know better. I live in the most heavily fracked metropolitan area in the United States (Fort Worth) and the shake under my home produces natural gas for the US market.

However, you have provided a vivid example of why we can’t solve problems. You have imposed a false political narrative over reality. If you think Trump (or any President) is the solution to energy independent, you will never solve the issue.

Pay no attention to those say Mr. Trump wanted to keep the schools closed…
He didn’t. He wanted no precautions against the pandemic after the initial shutdown.

…or energy production curtailed.
He did negotiate (and brag about) an agreement with Russia and Saudi Arabia to limit production which caused the price of oil to go up until early this year. Right-wing media ‘forgot’ about that after Biden became President and prices started going up because it was unwelcome information for Trump adorers.

Of course, but did all the major cities of the west coast exist with grassy lawns? Did the explorers discover Las Vegas with all the casinos?

Come on! You are so beholden to upholding political talking points you can’t even discuss reality.

How can they do so when people like you won’t deal with reality?

It is a matter of the energy needed to get the water from the wet East to the dry West. the Rockies come to mind as one obstacle.

It's not that there isn't enough water. It's that the loony tunes out on the Left Coast refuse to manage their water correctly.

Remember that Oroville dam spill? So much water fell that the water breached the dam's overflow channel and dug a massive gully out of it.

The states out there drag their feet with creating new reservoirs and choose to stop construction over endangered mouse species.

Spot on Mr. Thumpin! Yet another non-reported story of leftist incompetence as far as providing water for people.

Since the left is against "fracking" then the left is responsible for our loss of production.

Of course energy independence is possible, those that claim otherwise are deniers of the obvious.

Yet another falsehood, Mr. Trump wanted the "precautions" of vaccination and protection of the elderly.

No need to rewrite the false claim yet again, the dry west was not caused by the industrial revolution.

LOL, Mr. Trump did not want domestic energy production curtained. Try adhering to reality.

I am not the one spouting Leftist talking points, Sir!

Ep 2872b – Define Insurgency? Define Counterinsurgency, Operational Confirmed

"The [DS] is panicking, they have deployed all assets,
they are going after Trump with everything they have, this is exactly what the patriots want.

"This exposes the true agenda of the [DS], sometimes people need to see it to believe it.

"Trump is making countermoves and each time the [DS] fights against it,
it shows how they are not following the rule of law.

"Scavino has now confirmed that we are operational,
the [DS] is continuing their narrative of domestic terrorists.

"This is not going to end well for them and their foot soldiers.

"Define Insurgency, Define Counterinsurgency?"

In the late 1940's and 1950's the House Un-american Activities Committee, led by Republican and Democrat representives, engaged in actual un-american activities, such as guilt by association. Today, the Democrat party is engaging in those same un-american activities, and black listing. Time for the voters to wake up and vote the Democrats out.

Time to Make America Great Again, with our abundant resources being utilized with due regard for our environment, but also with due regard for the welfare of the people.

Yes, they have now foreseen another black eye when electrical power rates skyrocket due to blocking construction of fossil fueled generation facilities, just like they are now getting due to skyrocketing gas prices. So they pivot, but only to deceive the voters.

Believe it when they agree for the Federal Government to take possession of all the Nuclear Power Plant spent fuel. But do not hold your breath.
