I think conservatists have confused conservatism with Christianity.
I do believe many conservative principles are based on Biblical truths and principles, how ever, many conservatives are godless people who do not believe in Jesus.

But the fact of the matter is, believing the bible and studying the bible will lead one to a more conservative political view. One will be hard pressed to find the bible teaching and approving of abortion, redistribution of wealth by the government, homosexuality, transgenderism and many other things.

That is not to say that conservatives do not have moral problems, but I believe conservative principles tend to be more biblically compatable than liberalism. But both conservatives and liberals alike are sinners.

And there in lies the confusion, "morally superior" does not mean Christian.

Board of Trustees Affirm Diversity Campaign • Liberty University

"On Nov. 2, the board voted unanimously...forging a course for the university...to improve diversity....Chief Diversity Officer Greg Dowell worked with Liberty’s attorneys to draft the resolution, and President Jerry Falwell brought it before the board for a vote."

"It’s a mission that is personal for Dowell, a former Liberty student who also served on staff under the university’s founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr....'Jerry Falwell Sr. had a vision for Liberty that embodied and created a culture of inclusion....Any person who desires to attend Liberty is welcome without regard to race, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and so on.'"

"'Liberty has always believed and practiced ‘whosoever will may come.’ We have not always been as intentional as we should have been in striving to attract a diverse faculty, staff, and student population, and I believe false impressions may have deterred underrepresented groups from giving Liberty serious consideration. This resolution can help us address that challenge.'"
