Continuing with a series of lessons on.....❝the Bible’s preservation❞!

LETS GO TO....... Deuteronomy 4:1-6
====================================
-❝GOD’S❞ THREE(3) WARNINGS.....NOT TO MESS WITH HIS WORD-
(Warnings.....that wicked men will ignore
--------------------------------------------------
But warnings......that let us know:
What kind of attack to expect!
------------------------
The way Satan will be attacking God’s Word!

(1) -GOD’S 1ST WARNING- Deuteronomy 4:1-6
====================================
Deuteronomy 4:1A Now therefore hearken, O Israel,
-GOD’S WORD IS HERE....SO WE CAN HEAR FROM THE LORD-
(Without a 100% reliable Bible
We can’t be sure we are hearing from Him!
====================================
Deuteronomy 4:1B unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you,
-THE ONLY SOURCE WE HAVE....FOR THE LORD’S TEACHINGS-
(Without exception...“all” of man’s teachings
Will be filled with error(large & small):

This is why the LORD knows....we need a reliable Bible!

Deuteronomy 4:1C for to do [them],
-GOD’S PURPOSE.......FOR PRESERVING HIS WORD FOR US-
(So we can obey Him
--------------------------------------------------
Now we can see....Satan’s big picture:
When he attacks God’s word:

It is to keep us from being obedient!

Deuteronomy 4:1D that ye may live, and go in and possess the land
which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
-GOD’S BLESSING UPON ALL THOSE....WHO FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS-
(We will have....His perfect presence in our lives

But unbelief and sin...hinders this presence......
Psalms 66:18
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]:”

Deuteronomy 4:2A Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you,
neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it,
-GOD’S FIRST WARNING....ABOUT MESSING WITH HIS WORD-
(Which seems simple enough
--------------------------------------------------
A warning that every honest scribe was aware of:
And took very seriously!

Deuteronomy 4:2B that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God
which I command you.
-SOMETHING WE KNOW.....THAT GOD WAS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT-
(After all...the Bible is God’s commandments to us
So He is very motivated to preserve it:

And He....is God!

Deuteronomy 4:3A Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor:
-A CLEAR EXAMPLE.....IN DIRECT CONTEXT OF THIS WARNING-
(“Look what I did to others”
“Who disregarded my warnings!”

Deuteronomy 4:3B for all the men that followed Baalpeor,
the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
-THE LORD TAKES THESE INSTRUCTIONS.....VERY SERIOUSLY-
(Therefore we should also

By not taking any man’s opinion:
Over that.....of God’s clear Word!

Deuteronomy 4:4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God
[are] alive every one of you this day.
-WHAT WE ARE DOING....WHEN WE PUT TRUST IN GOD’S WORD-
(We are cleaving unto the LORD

Which is a very healthy thing to do!

Deuteronomy 4:5A Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments,
even as the LORD my God commanded me,
-THE PREACHER’S ONLY SOURCE.....OF LIGHT FOR GOD’S PEOPLE-
(The statutes and judgments of the LORD

We shouldn’t bring ANYTHING ELSE to the pulpit!

Deuteronomy 4:5B that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
-THE CHRISTIAN’S ONLY SOURCE......OF GOD’S LIGHT FOR LIVING-
(If we want to live a fulfilled Christian life
--------------------------------------------------
Using God’s Word as our guide for life:
Interjects the LORD Himself into our life!

Deuteronomy 4:6A Keep therefore and do [them];
-THE MAIN POINT......OF THIS SERIES OF LESSONS-
(To teach us the importance of KEEPING THEM
--------------------------------------------------
This may be the most important issue of our life!
====================================
Deuteronomy 4:6B for this [is] your wisdom and your understanding
in the sight of the nations,
-A GOLDEN NUGGET.....FOUND IN THIS PASSAGE-
(That hits the nail of this issue on the head
--------------------------------------------------
In the light of all the “worldly wisdom” we have access to today:
God’s Word remains our “only source” of true wisdom and understanding!

Deuteronomy 4:6C which shall hear all these statutes, and say,
Surely this great nation [is] a wise and understanding people.
-GOD’S PLAN.....FOR WINNING THE WORLD TO CHRIST-
(To have a people...who’s lives are really being changed
--------------------------------------------------
Because of the wisdom they gain from God’s Word!
