I couldn't let this BLESSING go by without sharing it.....
When we had Skittles, she served as my Diabetes Alert Dog, and saved me numerous times pointing out sugar highs and lows. When Skittles passed away three years ago (this April) I thought I lost my Medical Alert assistance by way of pooch!
Well, as you know, We adopted Pixel, and after three years of bonding with her, over the past year, she has developed the knack of alerting me to sugar highs and lows too! Which is a definite PRAISE the LORD moment in my life.
Well, last week, while sleeping, I was woke up with Pixel sticking her nose practically down my mouth/throat. I pushed her away, and petted her, thinking what a sweetheart, waking me with a kiss. BUT, after a minute or two, I thought to myself, "Hey! Do you think she may be alerting me to my sugar levels?" So, I got up and checked my numbers, and Praise the Lord, she had alerted me to a 301 sugar level, which is extremely high! I took a shot of insulin, and stabilized my numbers, and immediately praised and loved Pixel up for the alert.
What she has been doing for more than a year now was not kissing me out of affection, but rather alerting me to sugar highs and lows.
Join me in thanking God for sending me another Diabetic Alert Dog. All I can say is, God is so very good! And so is Pixel...
