Not being able to understand jokes, figures of speech, inferences, customs . . . is a sign of autism.

And yet, the "conservative" Robert Snow said (when Obama bowed to Japan's Emperor Akihito):

So, "just a greeting" or not "just a greeting"? Which Robert Snow will show up to answer this?

As usual Wade, in his zeal to have a disagreement, leaves out important information.

The slight tipping of the head to the Chinese diplomat is not the same as the almost prostate bow President Obama did to the Japanese.

Maybe thats the problem with Matt Wade and Rbell, if so, it would explain a lot!

Yes, leave it to billwald and Robert Snow to use a disorder that affects the quality of life of millions of people to disparage other posters. What compassion from the liberals! Reminds me of how their hero, Obama, compared his horrible bowling to being "like the Special Olympics".

Your opinion of me is one thing, I'm man enough to take any insult you can hurl, but you've stooped to a new low by poking fun at and disparaging those people with autism.

No one is poking fun at someone with autism, but I don't expect someone as dishonest as you to acknowledge it. Besides, anyone would know you don't have autism. I have worked with autistic children in the past. They are usually kind and compassionate, something no one would confuse you with.

To use a disorder to attempt to insult other posters on this board certainly pokes fun at autism (and in turn those with autism). Autism is a real disorder that many people suffer from. For you to use it as an insult towards others is just a mean, senseless thing to do. I don't expect for you to see why this behavior is insulting, but doesn't mean it is not.

As an uncle of an autistic nephew, I take a very dim view of using the word as a punch line. So, dim in fact that I am closing this thread with prejudice,
