Western Civilization and End-Times Prophecy

You may be right, but it's not what the Lord said. Have a read of Luke 17:26-30. I believe that the Return of Christ will be sudden and unexpected. Our part is to be ready, though it may not happen in our lifetimes.

I too believe that Christ's return will be unexpected, but unexpected for the lost. Christians who are prepared
(as was Noah for the flood) will be expecting the Lord's return and, as you stated, will be ready. Noah had notice
from God and time to build the Ark, and Lot was given time to bring his family out of Sodom.

Agreed. We need to keep our "Spiritual Bags" packed and ready to go, and all the more reason to share the
Gospel with any who will listen. umn.gif

I have a question

But his father refused and said, I know, my son, I know: he also will become a people, and he also will be great; but truly his younger brother will be greater than he; and his seed will become the fulness of nations. Gen 48:19 Darby

Nations הַגּוֹיִם Translated 30 times in OT as Gentiles

Today, are the seed of Ephraim of the Jews or of the nations, the Gentiles?

How should they be looked at in prophecy?

εἰς πλῆθος ἐθνῶν the fullness of nations from LXX Gen 48:19 compared to; τὸ πλήρωμα τῶν ἐθνῶν the fulness of the Gentiles from Rom 11:25
be speaking of the same people?
