(CNSNews.com) – Turkey was planning to attack Syria whether U.S. troops were there or not, so President Donald Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops from Syria was not a green light to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to advance on Syria, White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told Fox News on Thursday.

Everybody knows that Syria had told Trump that. Nobody is denying it. I’ve watched it on several news networks this very evening. But you don’t have to let Turkey call the shots and pulling out troops knowing full well they were going to attack somehow makes it even more callous and cold.

How in the world does that make this situation less aggregious

“Hey guys we’ve actually known for a long time that Turkey was going to attack so everything is perfectly fine.” Goodness gracious.

If our position was “by all means let us get out of the way”. I can’t think of a bigger green light.

That was what would have happened had Trump left troops embedded with Kurds.

You really going to say war was the only option? We used sanctions this past week. We couldn’t have at least tried to head this off considering we knew about it? That doesn’t add up. We let Turkey dictate our departure on their terms with disastrous consequences.

The end result is a positive for us.

Do you want US troops to occupy Syria forever, costing us money and lives forever for whatever it is you want troops there? If US troops weren't there in the first place, there wouldn't be these abandoned US bases, right?

Why don't you pay private mercenaries to occupy, instead of stealing my tax money, and putting American troops in harms way, for illegitimate purposes?

Hey maybe if you’d read what I’ve had to say you’d understand that I’m not in favor of staying in Syria. I’m in favor of withdrawal but a tactical withdrawal that allows out troops to come up with a plan with the Kurds that would prevent them from being slaughtered. It would also be nice to have time to logistically pull out so we’re not having to sink millions of dollars on blowing up our own ammo. Also would have been nice to ensure we are properly dismantling our bases to ensure that we are done and not leaving anything sensitive behind. Instead we have let Turkey dictate our time table.

We’ve gained nothing.
We have gained quite a lot. We have put Turkey and Russia in the position to fight a proxy war costing both nation's a fortune. They will get Into a war. We won't be obligated to defend Turkey because they will have attacked vs been attacked.
