What a purpose driven church is not

    Some people are uncomfortable because they are being convicted or because they don't want to hear a "Jesus is the only way to God" message. Some people are uncomfortable because the worship or liturgy is different. It all depends on what is making the person uncomfortable, but if there is something that offends, it should only be the message of the cross. The message of the cross is an offense to those who don't want to hear it. Motivational messages make people feel good and are not what church is about, imo.

    I think the issue here is whether churches are for outreach or whether they are to feed the sheep. I think it's more of the latter, so we should not go overboard in trying to make everything pleasing to everyone. At the same time, Christians should be friendly to everyone (especially visitors) and anyone should feel welcomed.

    Makes you wonder how the Church lasted 2000 years without the aid of Rick Warren's "biblical vision".
