What about coffee?

I have seen that. But they never came close to hitting me. They just bent both props on landing. Big expense to pay and quite a risk to take just for a few cans of beer. The FAA found out and I am sure took their license away.

I have never heard that before. I did not know that you could buy caffeine pills. What are they used for?

 

we take cap off put in peanuts and then put cap back on and take a nail and punch hole in cap so it would last longer. when gone we took cap off and eat peanuts.:BangHead: :BangHead:

 

When I lived in AZ I saw some truck drivers who were driving down the road in such a way that I am sure they were on speed. If they had caffeine instead it probably would have slowed them down.

 

Sure, you can take No-Doze pills. College kids do it all the time. Its ultra doses of caffeine.

 

The drugs he list are the ones sold on the street for the very purpose of getting high.
I tell you how I am Jamie; I read the Bible to see how close I can live to God and not what I can get away with. Many people, the only reason they read at all is to try to justify something they want to do, not just drinking but many things. As my uncle said, who had drank all his life, when he first read the Bible he saw where he could have him a drink or two but kept reading and finally read himself out of those two drinks.
I preach to my congregation "Make it as sure as you can, for you are only going to pass this way but once". God is the judge of all men and all I can do is teach people what I think is right before the Lord to try and get them to Heaven. While I think that way you live should be on the side of good, and if something isn't bad for you, yet you substain from it, then you you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so I can understand why you take the point about drunkenness and drugs, but it's still not right or correct to say that drugs causes drunkenness in my opinion.

Again, I am not advocating the use of drugs, but it's not being drunk.

So, while I agree with your end result, we shouldn't use drugs, I disagree with your use of drunkenness to Biblically describe why one shouldn't use drugs.

Caffeine is a drug. I use it for headaches.

Other than that, I try to stay away.
Other than using it medicinally, it's a recreational drug imo.

I rarely allow my kids to have it. And I'd rather have them drink coffee than cola. At least it isn't a zillion tablespoons of sugar, and the caffeine is more natural.

Once in a while it's a nice drug, both for medicinal and recreational use once in a while.

But do call it what it is.

And do realize that regular use has serious affects on your body, and especially on the body of a growing child.

 

I've never ever thought of caffeine as a recreational drug. Where is the recreation in it? I've never heard of someone getting a pleasurable feeling from it, or a buzz, or getting high. I can never feel it after I've had it, except that it keeps me awake.

Actually, I drink caffeinless coffee most of the time because caffeine aggravates my rosacea (a skin condition), but I do drink diet coke--for the taste, not the buzz or the high.

I have yet to hear of any solid research that caffeine did any harm at all to the body. In fact, the most recent study I read said that 3 cups of coffee a day can prevent diabetes.

Concerning a child having it, we were told growing up that it would stunt our growth, so it wasn't allowed in our family until 16. Then my little sister passed 6 feet before hitting 16 and we told Mom and Dad to start her on caffeine, as soon as possible!:laugh:

IMHO, coffee is not a drug ... and neither is caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, but it's still not a "drug." Not even in the dictionary.

BTW, could ya pass a cup this way...?
