The word "whoever" means anyone. In fact it destroys your idea of being especially chosen for Salvation. You claim to know scripture Icon but the truth is you don't.
MB

Your obsession with the word whosever is fruitless. Why?
Because it is everyone who BELIEVES...IT DOES NOT END WITH THE WORD WHOSOEVER.

"robycop3,

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR POST???

You highlight whoever, and ignore the blue bolded words

Jesus said, in John 3:16, "WHOEVER believes..."

Joel 2:32 says "WHOEVER calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Jesus said in Matt. 10:32,“Therefore WHOEVER confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven."

He said in John 12:46,"I have come as a light into the world, that WHOEVER believes in Me should not abide in darkness."

Luke wrote in Acts 2:21,"And it shall come to pass That WHOEVER calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

He also wrote, in Acts 10:43, "
To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, WHOEVER believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

And Paul wrote, in Romans 10:13,"For WHOEVER calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Not one "whoever if already elect" !

No need to say that....believing shows who is elect

Most of Calvinism is simply false[/QUOTE]

These that you claim are false are the portions you do not understand.

Not all Israel though was Israel, as were those who were Jews still lost, and saved spiritual jews!

That might be true but in Rev. ch. 2 Jesus is writing to the Church. He is pronouncing judgement on the Church, which the reformed covenant crowd claims is elect to salvation and the new recipients of the covenants actually promised to Israel.

I think it is a question similar to thinking you can take your yearly paid vacation before you are even offered the job never mind having a year of service to the company. Covenant theology takes for itself the promises given to another, ignores the main covenant details and fabricates new ones, thinks it has no the responsibility and not subject to the same judgments the Sons of Abraham for disobedience. If it were true it would be a great gig.

People with a mistaken view of the Covenants stay trapped in dispensationalism, explaining away the truth that has come to believers today.
Gentiles at one point in time were strangers to the covenants of promise, but that is not the case any longer;
EPH2;

11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

If you have a system that wrongly divides the word of God and fragments it, you leave people trapped in it.

Not everyone who assembles in a local assembly is actually part of it.
That is why warnings about self-examination are given.
God is a Covenant keeping God.
part of being a believer is rejoicing in this fact;

2sam.23:
5 Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire,
although he make it not to grow.

psalm25:14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him;

and he will shew them his covenant.

We do need to address these prophecies, in their context, considering both the the Grammatical-Historical exegetical method and the Spiritual method,

Oh yeah, the parroted string of scholarly humanistic textual criticism buzz-words preparing to justify the unbelief that follows them. Classic.

John's assessment of genuine physical children of Abraham -
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10 And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Mat. 3
That was John's assessment of certain ones of them who held to many false doctrines & man-made rules of worship. Remember, John himself was a physical Jew.

But, same as anyone else, each individual Jew must come to Jesus in belief, repentance, & submission to be saved.

But others can become elect by choice.
You do not understand the biblical doctrine of election.
People are not neutral blank slates then become elect when they feel like.an centered theology is not biblical theology at all
You have no scripture or teaching to support your idea.

You cannot answer them so you look to divert away, this is how people remain trapped and ensnared in this system.

Revelation 2:18 is a message that the angel is to give to the Church not a few select reformed members or those who think they are elected to salvation.

Actually, I have PLENTY of Scriptural backing, as well as my own experience. I never felt no "calling" to become saved. I'd heard the Gospel most of my life, and, while reflecting about it, I realized it's true, & that i wasn't guaranteed tomorrow. I realized Jesus was "knocking at my door" & that I needed to "get up & answer it".

As for Scriptural backing, I posted some of it with the "whoever" verses. Again, THERE'S NOT ONE WHOEVER IF ALREADY ELECT in any of them!

Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Again, it's ANYONE, not "anyone who is already elect".

Your calvinism is phony as a 1914 V-nickel.

First, holding to a position out of ignorance is not unique to Dispensationalism. Every "ism" has this problem. Often we believe what we are taught because it is all we know.
If that were only true. I was taught Roman Catholicism but I continued my search. That led me to Reformed Theology and then to Baptist theology which in its truest form is scriptural truth. Never did I divert into any other form of Christianity even though I was often ostracized by others who don’t hold to my particular understanding of scripture.

When anyone denies the biblical teaching of election, then tries to explain it away by simply making things up.....there is no way they are going to study out of a system even if the system is defective.
We also see some who stick with the dreaded wooden literalism.
They fail to realize that the other views also believe in literal interpretation.
That is how it happens.
