I'm with you here. I love, love, love Thanksgiving!I Am Blessed 16 said:I will be cooking the traditional Thanksgiving dinner at home and we will have some of our family over. "Whosoever will may come."
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We can get together and fellowship and not have to buy gifts! We just give thanks for all the gifts God has already given us. :godisgood:
I like that!Brother Bob said:I have to buy a turkey so big I ride it home.
I been doing it for around 40 years and it sounds like you are doing the same and getting plenty of moisture in the turkey. I hated turkey growing up it was so dry. I don't know where I learned to do it this way. I know we need a lot of gruel for our type of dressing and think that may have led to all the water but it really works. Have a good one and hope the family enjoys.Bor. Bob, I never ever make dry turkey. I cook mine in tha big blue roaster also, I salt and pepper mine, add a little garlic powder, and 4 or 5 cups of water, and cover tightly with foil. I get up about 5 am and pre heat the oven to 400 degrees, cook the turley 30 minutes tog et a good start, then turn it down to 325 degrees(got this from emeril a few years ago and it's perfect).
