What Are You Preaching on Easter?

Don't take it for granted. 3 Easters I heard sermons that never mentioned the death, burial, or resurrection of Christ at all. The accompanying passages were not read. It was just another Sunday. 2 of the sermons were out of Judges. One was from Joshua.

Honestly, how some men end up in the pulpit is beyond me.

I agree. Why would someone not proclaim the resurrection every service, especially on Easter.

I am speaking on the difference the resurrection played in the lives of those who really experienced it.

This is hubby's first Easter message and he'll be reading through the Luke account with some commentary in there and basically letting the text stand on it's own. Hard to make the actual story better. :) We have a lot of newly churched people so it's not like they've heard tons of Easter messages.

If I were preaching I'm sure it would be The Three Crosses on Calvary with it coming down to the question "Which one represents YOU?...You're not Jesus, so you're either in company of the repentant sinner on His right, or the unreprentant sinner on His left...you cannot be in the middle."

Matthew 28.1-15, focussing particularly on the bribery of the soldiers by the Jewish leaders. What a waste, if the soldiers' story were not true! Yes, Jesus is alive! Implications for you?

How do you know the repentant was on his right and that the unrepentant was on his left?

Maybe the repentant was on the left.
