What Arminians Believe about the Atonement

Not in any of the scenarios posted does payment of one's debt equate to salvation! Payment of the debt simply gets one out of 'debtors prison'. That is only part of the trip, you must still make the decision to walk out the door!

 

Christ did not pay someone on the cross. You OWE your debt until you accept the conditions of the Gospel which is -- Matt 10 FULL surrender to Christ. "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of Me".

It is FULL surrender that begins with repentance "IF we confess our sins HE IS faithful and just TO FORGIVE US our sins". 1John 1:9.

IN fact - It is FULL and complete surrender even AFTER we are born again, saved, forgiven, else we are confronted with the Matt 18 "Forgiveness revoked" scenario of Christ.
