Yes, I saw them. But

  • Neo-Orthodoxy is based on using Orthodox vocabulary and using its own dictionary.
  • As a Baptist, I find it impossible to accept the Lutheran position on pedo-baptism and salvation.
  • 1 milliliter of strychnine in 1 liter of other wise pure water, still make the water poison.
Are you convinced of this in spite of the quotes I offered in post #10? Just wanted to make sure you saw them.

and even if they were, does that mean we can learn nothing from them, that they couldn't possibly have written any truth?

My problem with this position is IMO he and Barth are\were still unsaved, unredeemed men. YMMV.

Your view was the prevailing view of him and Barth when I was in school in the 60's. Many believed he did much good on the secular side but on the Christian side many believed he was lacking or lost.

Another factor in leading to my opinion is the first and only person I've heard quoting Herr Bonhoeffer was the Neo Orthodox (lost) pastor of the modernist United Presbyterian Church my family attended when I was a teenager. (I wasn't saved until I was 19.)
