If God chooses to passover someone He has chosen them for that.
I agree.
" But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 and shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots [they are] and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:" ( 2 Peter 2:12-14 )
" These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever." ( 2 Peter 2:17 ).
" [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:" ( Romans 9:22 )
" What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (according as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear unto this day." ( Romans 11:7-8 )
" Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would [no doubt] have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. " ( 1 John 2:19 ). <--- This speaks of false teachers who have left the apostles doctrine. The reason that they left is so that they would be made manifest ( shown ) that they were not all "of the apostles".
Trying to act as there is a difference is ridiculous.
Again, I agree.
I see the Bible stating that the reason people do not "hear" God's words is because they are not "of God" ( John 8:47 ).
The reason that they do not believe on Christ is that they are not one of Christ's sheep ( John 10:26 ).
The reason that they are blind to the Gospel is because God has allowed Satan to blind them ( 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 ), and because they are condemned by God already ( John 3:18 ).
Personally speaking, I don't act as if there is a difference between active and passive reprobation, because to me, reprobation is active.
Paul acknowledges the fact of it here:
" Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates." ( 2 Corinthians 13:5-7 )
May God bless you and yours abundantly, sir.
