And gb, how 'bout ethics in our baptist churches, state conventions, national associations, etc.

If it were a history, it would be 1 page.

At most . .

Yes, how I know that first-hand! I was fired from a church for not allowing some previous practices. But I did learn something I cannot value any greater. I better understand Jesus. I better understand the pain of standing against those who will not live according to scripture. I know that I am different because of that experience. My entire family is stronger as a result.

Hopefully more and more of Him and less of me.

gb: I commend your righteous stand against a church that was involved in what I gather to be evil practices...

...what were they? Can you elucidate, even if in general terms?

God will reward you for your stand.

I refuse to go along with sinful practices in any church.

How a Baptist church can practice rampant witchcraft, watch kids play with YuGiOh cards and read Harry Potter books in church during Prayer Service, members sending dirty joke emails to each other, bickering over kitchen duties, holding pastor accountable to no one, not even God's Word and clear Bible teaching...

....is beeeeeeyoooooond me, man!

I'd like to see a book on:

"How Sinful Churches Can Preach Salvation Accurately...But Practice Ungodliness Abundantly" something like that.

Maybe they don't preach it accurately. Could be they leave out repentance and genuine self-denial, taking up cross, etc.

I think a book I'd like to see is "What to expect in from a church."

For example:
You should expect a church that preaches the Word and demonstrates how the Word can change lives - not a bunch of interesting stories strung together.

I think a lot of church members today don't know what to expect from their church.

NateT: you should also expect your church to have a strong evangelism program...

...strong discipleship classes program

...anointing with oil and healing services or availability

...priority to announcements so everyone knows what activities are available

...acceptance of bikers, blacks, poor, disabled, retarded, insane, punks, goths, tatooed characters who smell bad, goateed ruffniks who look spooky, foreigners, drunks, crack heads, whores, etc.

accept them lovingly and encourage them to sin no more and to follow Jesus...but not conform to conservative dress codes and political beliefs.

...be against war

...visit sick and prisons

...care for widows and orphans

...preach accurate Bible sermons

...condemn occult and violence in all forms

...pray sincerely and spiritually for persecuted church, foreign missionaries, other churches and pastors, other dumbnominations, etc.

If you will kindly visit my website by going to this link: www.pgmradio.org/hike4kids and click on the "Tools" button. You will find a list of e-books that can be downloaded in .PDF form that addresses you inquiry "What We Can Know About God Through Nature (Romans 1:19,20)

I am also writing a book for fatherless children called "Above the Clouds." It's a journal of my experiences hiking the famed 2,168-mile Appalachian Trail solo in 2002. I present the Father of Creation to fatherless kids by paralleling my experiences hiking the A.T. with those of kids hiking through life without a father. I reveal to them by Scipture who the Father really is!

There needs to be a book for Christian girls on what to look for in a man to avoid one who has a problem with pornography. All those types of books are written for the wife who's already in the situation.
