What do teens think of Christian Rock and other forms of CCM

I see... so to minister to a drunk one should get drunk?

 

ya know i think that we should praise God using that talents that we are given some people like, enjoy and are good at playing Rock music, so is it wrong for them to use this to praise God. Im not saying that everyone should like it, but you shouldnt be against and attack those who do.

 

Rock music is of the flesh and of the devil and you want to praise those who use it "for God"? How do you take a devils tool and use it for God?

 

Who are you to say that Rock music is a tool of the Devil?

See the problem I am having with this entire thing is that I go to a Contemporary Worship Service on Sunday Evenings (I still go to Worship and bible study in the mornings). And I have noticed that in the morning most people are at church because they feel they have to be but in the evening we celebrate the opening of the Bible and the music is done by a local Christian Rock Band. I see more fellowship at the contemporary service than I do the regular service in the morning. So explain to me where the Devil is doing his work. I will admit that some CCM bands are not Christian they used to be but even then some gospel singers have been known to go into pop or rap music, the only example i have right now is MC Hammer

Tell me where you see that Christian Rock is a tool of the devil. You are just against it b/c you do not understand it.
What you listen to does not change the fact that you are saved. Just b/c I listen to Christian rock does not mean that I worship the devil. What is the difference between listening to Christian rock and country the words and the music? And how many of you listen to country music (I do). And country music does not have Christian lyrics but you are not gunning it down calling it a tool to the devil. If it causes you to move away from God do not listen to it but if it helps you move closer to him who cares.

I found another site regarding this topic. http://www.av1611.org/cqguide.html. Though it is written by the same guy as the last site i listed..He has different arguments. Im reading it at this moment. I can say I never before really listened to Christian rock or CCM...but now I have. He has clips you can listen to of different artists. It literally made me sick to hear it. I couldnt understand half they were saying..and that, that I could understand didnt mention anything of Christ. It makes me mad/sad to think that these people are fooling the world by saying that they are "Praising the name of Jesus Christ" through these songs. I dont see how any of you can listen to that junk and still stand that it's Godly, Holy, and Acceptable By God.

 

I hope you all will read this site in its intirety. Its way better than the other one and it focuses more on the music than the musicians (which I know alot of you had a prablem with the last one because of that). He gives plenty of scripture to back up his statements..so there is no reason to say he isnt backing it with the Bible. He has done more research than (if you were honest with yourselves) any of you have done.

Now I havent looked at that site yet (due to it not showing up) but (and this is a big BUT ok) I realize that some bands out there are not truely Christian Bands like in my last post

Now you also say that you have only heard small clips of music now how do you know that he didnt just find a clip that was fitting his statement. How can you say that this site is true if you yourself have never actually listened to CCM? How can you make judgement based on what someone else has said? I have heard plenty of CCM that is actually Christian in lyrics and some that people claim to be CCM but arent.

who are we to point the finger and say that they are not really praising God we are not in their heart and we do not know their motives.
