Thank God for our democracy which voted him overwhelmingly out of office and put Reagan in.

I would almost agree with you, except for the fact the corruption runs so deep in Washington, that I feel if we didn't have term limits, it wouldn't turn out as the people wanted it..

The "people" will buy into most anything if it's said with the right spin.. It happens all the time in Polictics..

No, Term limits are a very good thing.

I guess, as with any report/study, the information received is debatable..

    From the Article:

Dan Greenberg of Little Rock, a Republican who won a state House seat in the May primary, said what he found while working on a research paper about term limits differed from the national study.

Greenberg said his paper, published by the Arkansas Policy Foundation, a conservative think tank, showed increases in diversity were evident from term limits.

"There is more diversity in terms of more women coming in and more people with different skin colors coming in," Greenberg said.

The representative-elect that he disagreed with the idea that citizens could not be effective. People can be informed without spending numerous years in the legislature, he said.

It would appear that there are two different outcomes, and I would guess that if you held four more studies, you could get four more outcomes.. You also have to realize, they are studying state representatives and state senators, in this discussion, we are talking about the POTUS.

One study doesn't change my mine, I still believe in term limits for Presidents.

I am not quite sure I know how to take this. I think you meant it as a compliment, but what does it say about me that you think you have to applaud me for telling the truth? I have held to these truths fairly consistently for a long time.

I voted once for Carter, and once against him. And I came to bitterly regret both votes.

The only commonality between Carter and Reagan was the decline of US influence and economic power in the world.

A huge chunk of your income taxes are still going to pay for the Reagan spendfest. Fortunately, his record tax increase kept it from bankrupting the federal government.

The only problem I have with Bush's war on terrorism is wondering when it will actually start. Iraq isn't a war against terror, it's a war to help enrich the oil businessmen that bought him a presidency he didn't win at the ballot box.

Attacking Iraq to stop terror would have been the equivalent of attacking Argentina to stop the Nazis in WWII. They weren't there yet.

Bush's three SCOTUS nominees are about the most mediocre, unaccomplished, vanilla, stand-for-absolutely-nothing judges in the entire system, and the only thing I can say for either one of those who actually made it is that they were better than Harriet Miers. If anti-abortion supporters think either one of Bush's nominees will ever even come close to any restriction of Roe v. Wade, much less overturning it, think again. Not with these two guys. The only thing that Roberts and Alito have done to the Supreme Court is make it more corporate friendly against the working middle class.

In short, I guess I agree with the assessment that the Bush presidency is the worst in modern history, at least since Hoover, and in all of US history, certainly in the bottom 5. As to whether he deserves impeachment, I'd say a hearty yes to that, mainly for the lies surrounding the US involvement in Iraq. Unfortunately, 9-11 allowed people's ignorance about middle eastern politics to overcome their better judgement, especially if you believe the Iraqis had something to do with Al-Qaida. That's the kind of ignorance that this administration thrives on.

I feel that he is President of the USA. He is protecting the USA against enemies foreign and domestic. I pray that he will shortly defeat the evil islamic fundamentalist empire that is determined to kill Americans and our way of life. Ironic that they only way that they can try to get into heaven is to commit murder.

This does not mean that I agree with those that abuse our way of life: Hollywood, abortionists, et al.

But it would be nice to go back to family values and Christian morality for 20 years . . .

I agree with Jack that Bush is the worst modern President, and likely the worst in our history.

EG, Bush is not protecting us against anything, and with his attacks on the Constitution, I believe HE and his group of cronies are a domestic enemy to our way of life and our freedoms. He has had plenty of help from a do-nothing Congress, who has either rubber-stamped the President's usurpation of power; or stood idly by as he rules by mandate like some absolute monarch. Once the President finishes packing the federal courts, the final check and balance will be history.

As for shortly defeating the Islamic fundies, even Bush himself says it is a problem for future presidents to finish. He is just riding out the next 2.5 years, waiting to split and leave the problem he created in Iraq for someone else.

Given the choices we had for President in November, 2004, Bush remains the proper choice.

Electing traitors like Kerry as President is not a road we need to travel.

Let's see if I have this right, Al-Qaeda admittingly flew planes into the WTC so we go kick Saddam Hussein out of power, claiming he has weapons of mass destruction that we never found. Now we have young american lives playing police in the middle of a middle eastern countries civil war with no end in site. The only thing I see good about this is he didn't go fool with North Korea. Then again, we're not done with that story yet???

In a press conference this morning, when President Bush was asked "What did Iraq have to do with the World Trade Center?" Bush said "Nothing."
