Someone mentioned listing mother of, father of, and wife or husband of.... My brother would have to have a VERY big tombstone if he only listed his WIVES!
    Marsha
    Ginger
    Mary
    Carole
....... forgot this one's name but she was old
and his new wife. Forgot her name too! Audrey???

I met Marsha and Carole. They aren't in correct order I'm sure.

I only mentioned I would like to have 'daughter of' because I was a person before I got married and 'wife of'. And of course that would be the husband I am currently married to, not the one who passed away...

"Sue Weindorf-Gray, daughter of Desmond and Mary Bowns-Weindorf and wife of Lynn Dale Gray" would be fine.

I am being cremated, so I won't have a tombstone.

A old friend of mine, now deceased, Showed me a photo of his great uncle's tombstone, He had been a Methodist circuit rider, circa 1870-1880's. It Read: He served God's purpose in his own generation. I kinda would like that on my tombstone; but really don't think I'm worthy of it.

Well since my parents divorced and remarried it would make quite a lengthy daughter of. I'd rather be remembered as wife of and mother of but again, no tombstone for me please! [IMG]

One of my wife's aunt had her basic information on the front of the stone, and then on the back, had etched in big bold letters "DEMOCRAT" and a picture of a donkey underneath. That was by far the most inappropriate and humorous stone I have ever seen.

I'm to be cremated and my ashes placed in an hourglass. Every Sunday morning the Widow Mrs. can flip me over and let me run for an hour. [IMG]

Sue made a comment about listing the information for geneology purposes. My Dad would agree, he spends alot of time in graveyards making rubbings of tombsones for his geneology studies.

I agree with putting information on about our genealogy. I have tramped around quite a few graveyards looking for people and it would have been very helpful if they had just put who their parents were. This stuff is really hard to find sometimes. I would put as much as I can without doing the whole history thing. :D
