Whether OT or NT man is saved by grace through faith, so when a righteous man turns from his righteousness he is turning from his faith that made him righteous.

Disagree. The "Law" [first 5 books] are very explicit that "die" is physical death for violating the law of God ...

The issue in Ezekiel 18 was that the people didn't think that the death (physical) of the sinner was enough punishment, the people wanted to kill their children for the sins of the fathers. God said "No."

Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live. 20 "The soul who sins shall die. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. ...

The context determines the type of death, physical vs spiritual.

What happens when you "die in your sins" as Ezekiel said through God?
