I'm talking about good. God is good and he is perfectly good. We don't say he's good because he acts a certain way, but that he's good period. We know that truth is good because God is truth.
Lying is evil, lying is not good. If Jesus had denied that he knew his Father, then he would have been a liar. He would no longer be good.
This view is absurd, God cannot just do whatever and that makes it good, it must truly BE good.
I think folks are confused because God commanded Joshua to destroy all the inhabitants of Canaan, including the infants and children. Folks have a difficult time with this.
God is our God, he can determine when each of us dies. Whether you die at birth, or age 102, you are going to die, as it is appointed unto all men to die.
Babies who die go to heaven, so that is really not bad, in fact, it is very good. If these babies would have grown, they would have reverted to the religion of their parents and corrupted the children of Israel. Therefore, it was better they die and go to heaven, than live to adulthood and go to hell, also teaching the Israelites their ways.
Deu 20:16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:
18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
In this case it was good that the children die. They would go to heaven, and the Jews would not be corrupted by them when they grew up.
We can see this in our own country, many African-Americans have converted to Islam because their ancestors were Muslims. This is why God had the Jews kill these particular children.
