Are we allowed to use the word idiot on the BB?

When I was in the IFB movement, I heard Phil Kidd preach against neon shoe strings. From that moment on, I have as much confidence in what he says as I do in Michael Jackson's claim he has had only 2 plastic surgeries

I grew up in NC. Have lived in NC, SC, GA, IL, WA, and MO. Have been an IFB since I was saved at 7... but to be perfectly honest, I have never heard of Phil Kidd.

Why is he controversial?

Who said PtW and I couldn't agree on something?

Although IMHO Preach is about one step removed from Kidd

I dont like him either. I just wondered what everyone else thought. He finally got kicked out of most og the Independent Fundamental Preacher' Fellowships. Even Sammy Allen rebuked him at one his camp meetings. There were some black people attending the service and Phil Kidd stood up and told them to leave b/c he only preached to white people. When he said that Sammy Allen told all the preachers to escort him out, he didnt even get to preach.

Well, every time I've heard the man, his message has convicted my heart. I give him a thumbs up

He is one of the far and few preachers that is straight forward. He preaches like it is.

To some people...

Just the idea that the gospel is for those who are the same color of skin is a lie from hell. This guy is a false teacher and lacks a child's understanding of the gospel.

I'v heard Phil Kidd preach. I am an Independant Fundamental Baptist Preacher and know a lot of preachers that have had Kidd preach for them. An Evangelist is a "helper" to the church. An Evangelist is a "Servant" to the Pastor of the Church he is preaching in. Phil Kidd is neither. Some of the preachers today have to make a name for themselves, like "hatchet Man" or "dynamite". Phil Kidd has to be the tough guy when he comes to your church. I wouldn't have him because of the language he uses while preaching. I am a tough preacher! I preach on separation using the KJV! My wife and I have raised 8 children all of them in good IFB churches, one (with her husband and kids) on their way to Greenland as missionaries. I have as many Bible convictions as Phil Kidd and yet I present them in a different way as to not be offensive with compromising. Let me give you an example. I had a preacher stand on my platform and say, while preaching "Christian ladies don't wear britches". Hey, that's stupid! The proof of the pudding is in the eating. I'll stack my family up against Phil Kidds any day. I wasn't in the campmeeting but I heard of what he did. Good for Brother Sammy.

I only heard one full sermon of his, he preached on dress codes, a sermon that is needed very much BTW, but he did it without compassion.
Did not care to much for him.

Just my two cents.

I have heard him preach and he doesn't cut any slack! I was not aware of him telling black people to leave. I would have to hear the whole thing before I could draw a conclusion about it. One of my favorite messages is "Welcome to the depths of Hell". It is fantastic and really makes you think of all that Christ has done for us!

Well I want to say that I love him and he preached the night that I got saved almost 8 years ago. He does preach things that most will not and thats one of the reasons I love him because he preaches it so straight that you don't leave there wondering what he means. He does seem hard but he is very full of compassion, he goes after people that no others will go after. I always tell people that have a problem with him that if you heard his life story and what sin did to his life then you would know why he preaches so hard against sin. I want my children under that kind of preaching. Also I want to say if there are some preachers that are not having him anymore then it could be because they are letting down on there standards and also about Bro. Sammy AlleN Whom I love too I would just have to hear that for myself before I beleive it because I have been in services with Bro. Kidd and some blacks and he has always treated them great. I have almost a hundred of his tapes and they have always been a great help to. May God bless Men like Preacher Kidd!!!!

showard - Great testimony and glad that the Spirit of God worked in your heart that day.

Proof again that if God can use Balaam's ass to give His message, He can use me or you!

Thank you Dr. Bob and you are right. I will have to say however that Dr. Phil Kidd means as much to me as my Pastor and I am so glad that he is the way he is because everyone can't be just alike it would be a boring world. Thanks again!!! ;)

I don't know Phil Kidd, but I do know that this story has been embellished quite a bit. My brother-in-law, Evangelist Rick Ball, and his family sang at Sammy Allen's campmeeting not long ago. They heard Phil Kidd preach there as well.

From what I understand about the man, he is pretty straightforward in his opinions. I'm all for preaching the truth, as long as the truth is preached in love. Eph. 4:15

Personally, I find Phil Kidd offensive, rude, and crude in his manners and style. I interpret much of his obnoxious demeanor and lack of good manners to personal arrogance even though I may be wrong on this point. (I cannot judge his thoughts, just his actions. Behavior, however, does proceed from the heart) IMHO, he could be just as strong on Scriptural convictions without being abrasive and offensive. If the gospel is offends, so be it. However, we ought not be offensive ourselves in the presentation of the gospel. (compare/contrast Luke 9:51-56 w/ 1 Cor. 9:19-23)

On the other hand, I question the veracity of the preceding incident. Can someone provide creditable verification of this? Check with Sammy Allen or e-mail Kidd himself. Second hand information or hearsay is not Scriptural grounds for accepting an accusation against a brother. (2 Cor. 13:1, 1 Tim. 5:19) I do think Kidd associates with black believers--probably Tommy Steele, a black independent Baptist preacher.

Let's scratch this one from the record, regardless of the other criticisms of Kidd, until it can be verified. Otherwise, we degenerate into a gossip board which God abhors!

And I don't like tofu either. However, we all have our individual tastes whether in food, clothing, music, or preachers. Perhaps our time would be more profitably spend if we heeded Paul's inspired wisdom in 1 Corinthans 4:3-5:

"But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God."

We, believers, will all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10) someday.
