@37818 , are you going to answer this?
The Sun existed on the first day. Or you must believe the first Solar day began on day four. LOL.So days were being measured before the sun was made. That's my point. No sun was the source of the light that was made on the first day. "Beginning" marks the point at we start our time piece. And in the beginning, the heaven and the earth was made. So earth days were being measured since the beginning.
I must believe what the text says, not your imagination. The Sun existed on the first day. Or you must believe the first Solar day began on day four. LOL.
It would seem you don't believe they were six Solar days. I do.I must believe what the text says, not what your superstitions are imposing upon it.
And I believe God's commentary on it. Why don't you?
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. - Exodus 20:11 KJV
Why don't you believe Exodus 20:11?It would seem you don't believe they were six Solar days. I do.
I never denied Exodus 20:11.Why don't you believe Exodus 20:11?
LOL. Your entire thesis denies Exodus 20:11.I never denied Exodus 20:11.
Nor do I deny the literal reading of Genesis 1:1 through Genesis 3:24.
A-n-d-r-o-m-e-d-a.Andromada Galaxy has been measured to be some 2.5 million light years away. Which is before Genesis 1:3.
Paul: all Scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.I see we are quibbling about Genesis 1 yet again.
Did the planet earth exist when it was "formless and void" (perhaps a molten blob) or was it non-existent until formed on day three. We were not there, so we do not know. Threads of this nature, claiming one side or the other is right, when the issue is in dispute are a waste of time.
Does Genesis 1:16 say God created our star (the Sun) on day four, or only that He made it illuminate, and the moon reflect to light the planet earth?
How does disputing this help us with the ministry of reconciliation? Answer: It does not.
for this is unobserved by them willingly, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of water and through water standing together by the word of God, 2 Peter 3:5 YLT
Is that descriptive of the earth as spoken of in Gen 1:2 and Gen 1:6-10?
Yes, indeed.for this is unobserved by them willingly, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of water and through water standing together by the word of God, 2 Peter 3:5 YLT
Is that descriptive of the earth as spoken of in Gen 1:2 and Gen 1:6-10?
MT | LXX | What is described | The Gap Theorist's Twistings |
---|---|---|---|
Genesis 1:1 KJV - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. | In the beginning, God made the sky and the earth. | The material universe comes into being, unformed. | In the beginning, God made the three heavens and the earth. The first heaven was the air of earth. The second heaven was where he placed the sun and the moon and all the stars. The angels He made, whom He also called sons, were placed also in the second heaven. The third heaven was where God placed His throne, and from whence He ruled. On the earth He made grass and herbs and trees and living creatures. He also made the leviathan and the behemoth. He also made an advanced race in the appearance of His sons, only a little lower in power and authority to rule over the earth and the living creatures. His sons ruled from the second heaven over the advanced race from the second heaven. There was bliss and peace for uncounted eons. When the earth was full, God moved the surplus population to other worlds where they still abide in peace. Lucifer was a son of God. He was the anointed one of God, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty, but iniquity was found in him. Lucifer became dissatisfied with his position, and thought himself to be cheated to be relegated to the earth and the second heaven. He sowed discontent in the hearts of his brothers, and with a third of their number mounted an insurrection against heaven. But they were overpowered and cast to the earth where they corrupted the race and turned them also against their creator. God destroyed all life on the earth with a flood, saving none, and burying the living creatures and the leviathan and behemoth under layers of slough eventually turning them to stone. |
Genesis 1:2 KJV - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. | Yet the earth was invisible and unformed, and darkness was over the abyss, and a divine wind was being carried along over the water. | It is essentially a massive sphere of water, the Deep, the raw material of the heaven and the earth. Heaven and earth are not yet formed. They are confused, meaning they are one and the same lump. It is not in outer space. Outer space is made in verse 7. It is in a space we cannot yet conceive of. | And the earth was in ruin underneath a vast sea, and vast thick cloud of the smoke of war completely blocked out the light of the sun and moon and stars. |
Genesis 1:3 KJV - And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. | And God said, "Let light come into being." And light came into being. | Light itself comes into being. Some creation scientists suggest that this is from nuclear fusion in the core of the sphere. The amount of water to account for the amount of the material in the universe gathered into one place would form a sphere approximately two light years in diameter. The incredible gravity would be fusing hydrogen and oxygen atoms into new configurations making the elements necessary for life. I think the light described is on the face of the deep. It's source cannot be imagined. | And God said, let the cloud dissipate somewhat, and become one big diffusing filter for the sunlight over the earth. And the pre-existing light began to penetrate the cloud. |
Genesis 1:4 KJV - And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. | And God saw the light, that it was good. And God separated between the light and between the darkness. | A cycle is established. Possibly in the rotation of the Deep. | And God saw the light penetrate the cloud, and that was a good thing. And God set the earth back into rotation. |
Genesis 1:5 KJV - And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. | And God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. And it came to be evening, and it came to be morning, day one. | God names the light and the darkness. | At a loss here. God must have had different names for them before. |
Genesis 1:6-8 KJV - And God said, Let there be a firmament [expanse] in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. | And God said, "Let a firmament come into being in the midst of the water, and let be a separator between water and water." And became so. And God made the firmament, and God separated between the water that was under the firmament and between the water that was above the firmament. And God called the firmament Sky. And God say that it was good. And it came to be evening, and it came to be morning, a second day. | In the center of the deep, an expanse appears, pushing the waters above it up and away from the waters below it. The expanse is where the sun, moon and stars are to be placed, vs 14. That would imply that the edge of the universe is water. Psalm 148:4. | God creates the atmosphere. The water above the firmament is in the clouds of the sky, or was some kind of canopy responsible for the temperate climate of the pre-Noahic deluge world. |
Genesis 1:9-11, 13 KJV - And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. ... And the evening and the morning were the third day. | And God said, "Let the water that is under the sky be gathered into one gathering, and let the dry land appear." And it became so. And the water that was under the sky was gathered into their gatherings, and the dry land appeared. And God called the dry land Earth, and the systems of the waters he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. And God said, "Let the earth put forth herbaceous vegetation, seeding seed according to kind and according to likeness, and a fruit-bearing treee producing fruit of which its seed is in it acccording to kind on the earth." And it became so...And it came to be evening, and it came to be morning, a third day. | The earth is formed. The waters that are under the expanse, are the waters of the earth. Not the waters of Europa or of the comets, or any other world. | The earth is uncovered. |
Genesis 1:15-19 KJV - And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. | And God said, "Let luminaries come into being in the firmament of the sky for illumination of the earth, to separate between the day and between the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years, and let them be for illumination in the firmament of the sky so as to give light upon the earth." And it became so. And God made the two great luminaries, the great luminary for rulership of the day and the lesser luminary for the rulership of the night, and the stars. And God set them in the firmament of the sky so as to give light upon the earth and to rule the day and the night and to separate between the light and between the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And it came to be evening, and it came to be morning, a fourth day. | The sun, moon and stars are made, and placed in the expanse that was made on the second day. | And God commanded the dark cloud of war smoke to dissipate, and allow the sun, moon and stars to appear, and to look like they're in the atmosphere among the clouds, or right under the canopy. |
